They’ve never told the friends about why they broke up right?

It’s prob best that way, I bet Raita would say something like “that was clearly a lie” and get mad at Sunao, don’t need war in the comments lol.
This has always been a point of contention for me in the story. The friends pushing her to go after Sunao without having the full context of how the break up happened.

It’s not about the lie, it’s about trust. It’s just like a piece of paper you can crumple it up and undo it .. but it’s never gonna be what it once was. I’m still curious if the full truth is ever going to become known to them.

Also the fact that Sunao himself doesn’t even bring it up. This is something that genuinely NEEDS to be addressed for them to truly move forward. It’s just constantly passed over like it was nothing. While the series does lowkey treat it as such it’s really not.

I mean Sunao is... I dunno. I think he needs to move on from what happened years ago. It's clear it affected him a lot, so much so he was afraid of opening up to people. I have been criticizing how little trust Lemon put on him, and that clearly pushed it over the edge at the end, even if that's not what he consciously got from the event. He's pretty mediocre (not necessarily a bad thing, just average guy). That's just typical guy behavior from romance manga. He does things and is active, but we don't see him do THAT much. I guess, the point is that people that like him, just like him because of his personality, not that he's an amazing guy... as well, the girls aren't that incredible either. They are just people. I guess, what I would say about Sunao is that he's hesitant, he doesn't know what to do, and ends up always choosing the middle ground, which doesn't push him forward or back, he sort of takes the place that causes him the least trouble. Kogahara kind of does the same thing, but that's more out of inexperience, Sunao is just afraid to truly commit.
This is what we need to see .. him actually putting in the effort and stepping up. In essence it’s hilarious how similar to Lemon he is just taking the easier path. We only ever see him confused and in love .. that’s pretty much the only emotions he ever shows. I feel like he’s barely even a character in his own series. Lemon overpowers everyone and they barely get a chance to even do anything. All that for her to take a baby step forward in terms of growth. We desperately need more time with Sunao to actually make him feel like a pivotal piece in this game.

I think the author just wants to forget it ever happened
