Yeah it's rare, especially in something like this, which borders on shojo/josei. I guess the urge to draw a pretty girl is too much, and there may well be editor pressure too. It isn't unheard of tho.

There's 2 new chapters for now not on mangadex, it seems all mangaplus titles stopped syncing two weeks ago. Between this and the paid comments nonsense, I'm just about ready to call it quits with this site.

It definitely helps in the sense they get a feel for how much interest there is in the translated manga, which probably ties into decisions like releasing physical volumes in English etc.
