I have no idea how this is a cope considering we are 32 chapters in and yet here we are, I am not going to break the rules despite your bait that I admit since I am posting, I took ...

I will just say this, its obvious were this series is heading and despite your seething, this aint going to turn into a revenge fantasy, pretty sure those series exist but this aint one of then, sorry ... you have to look somewhere else for that.
What on earth are you talking about? The series is heading where? Where did you get the impression anyone thought this was going to be a revenge fantasy? What?? Your reply literally makes 0 sense. This is so puzzling

You guys are on some hard copium saying "she only did a practical joke in middle school, its no big deal guys" when the story has established she is not a good person and is literally dropping chapters explaining why she is the way she is

Their reply clearly quotes this comment.
My god, that's embarrassing, I misread because I literally wrote "cope" as well in reply to it and i saw the comment right underneath my post. I will edit the post slightly. I still don't know where anyone mentioned a revenge plot. Like the reply still makes no sense.

See? This is what I am talking about ... the series starts with him having a very strong physic response to "attractive women" with the psychological reason being because he believed he was betrayed in middle school by a attractive girl.

The funny thing is at no point she actively hurt him, she treated him nice because that made her look good, she didnt like him and that was all in his head, she also only confirmed that to her friends ... she didnt public humiliated him, string him along or did anything else.

And yes, there are people here that act as if she is a shoujo villain character and yes, she is targeting Shizuka in the sense she wants validation to her belief that there are no good girls, Shizuka seemingly have no flaws ... outside how is currently giving a lot of mixed signals to Keisuke that is, funny how that seeingly isnt a issue.

Honestly, I don't even know what you're saying here. What was your point? Are you trying to equate Shizuka with Hebikawa?

People have been saying Shizuka gives tons of mixed signals to Keisuke, but she's not doing that intentionally so it's a bit harder to criticize her for it. Hebikawa, however, intentionally acts two-faced and uses people to her advantage, while also doing pretty rude things like purposefully excluding Shizuka/isolating her while hanging out with her to make her feel bad.

Like, she has pretty much only been selfish and ill-intentioned towards everyone except herself. And now we see that she tries to turn people against others and also wants to "get people to break their facades" because she simply can't believe there are good natured people. Why are we discussing Shizuka's confused feelings here?

Hebikawa isn't defined by only chapter 1, she's defined by every other chapter she's existed in, in which she has only been portrayed as a not good person, lol. It's also insinuated that she talked about Keisuke behind his back knowing he was listening, she makes eye contact with him, so she did "actively hurt him" there. What was your point again?

She can't live as she is right now, so she's seeking validation, to say she made the right choice of being a snake. But you said it yourself girl, you're trash, you didn't bother to become your ideal self.

I got no clue why this comment section has such a huge hate boner for this girl. she pulled one practical joke that every middle schooler has done before its not that deep.
How do you people get that "she hasn't hurt anybody" nonsense when story shows multiple times, including even her internal narration, that she knowingly hurts people when she thinks that will get her what she wants, even when it's just satisfying her curiosity or proving a point. This Reddit comment from previous chapter is pretty detailed in showing how she's consistently behaving like a dick most of the time, but here are my own two main points just to remind you quickly:

a) she initiated badmouthing Kusunoki on purpose with her two goons she clearly brought just to be able to do that, despite knowing girl is just bad at communication, she literally says that in her inner monologue, just to get her isolated and hurt. She expected Kusunoki to be hurt and therefore angry at her, that's why she was so surprised when she got apologies instead. She in turn only apologized because she got curious again, and she still shows no actual remorse, and still only plays friends with her so she can force her to show her "dark side"

b) when MC vomited, she realized it was in reaction to her, as she clearly told him, and yet instead of trying to avoid that reaction, she cornered him when he was resting after getting sick, even climbed on top on his bed to prevent him from escaping (that's really fucked up behavior BTW, imagine this scenario with reversed genders), making use his trauma on purpose to force him to explain it, trying to invade his privacy and drag potentially painful memories, just because she was curious. Again, she was acting in harmful way with premeditation just to satisfy her petty whims.

And , Exile, why would Shizuku giving mixed signal be an issue, when not only she isn't sure herself what's her relationships, but he also was pushing her onto his guy friends as well? They are both friends and loners without lot of experience in relationships of any kind, but they both still clearly care a lot about each other, what more could we want? That doesn't compare with being two-faced or bully at all.

Don't you love it when people conflate sympathy with justification? You can understand why a character does bad things without agreeing with what they did.

But anyways, Kusunoki actually does have a dark side: She likes anime.

This last few chapters are starting to taste like when you bite something awfully hard in a soft and tender food after some time you start to feel a bitter flavor rising

"Despite your seething" :dogkek:

That got a genuine laugh out of me dude. If you honestly think I'm mad because I called out your accusation that it's one person making multiple accounts hating on this cunt over multiple people hating her. Then you're not coping you're full on delusional. Get help.

Also I'm not reading this for "revenge fantasy" or whatever delusional projection you have of me. I'm reading this for MC to be a better more competent man and the heroine to make friends and maybe date the MC. The cunt is nothing more than an obstacle.

I actually find snek the most interesting character and enjoy her as a antagonist, I don't understand though how some people say she did nothing wrong when that's whole point of her character in this manga - to be the character that does wrong things sometimes, and that forces the MC to challenge his past and his trauma to protect his current friendship (or more?) with Kusunoki.

I'm not even saying she won't get some kind of redemption story later, though I hope it won't be too fast and easy, but even then, only characters who did bad things need to be redeemed in the first place, so that still makes the current her a bad person, and it's not like mangaka didn't point out several times what makes her bad person, including her own internal monologue in thought bubbles.

I love how ririsa plot twist are like:

You thought she was an asshole with distorted social sense, but in fact...
She is an asshole with distorted social sense! Haha! I got you! But there is more...
You see, after meeting Shizuka, little by little... She drifted away in a dark path.
