The vibe I'm getting is that the majority of you would walk away from the potential sex assault of a teenager because she was mean to you in middle school.
He already saw her being friendly with that guy before, as far as he knows she's just being bratty to her family, or trying to make that guy look guilty because he's her sugar daddy and she wants to blackmail him. And it's not like there aren't plenty of other people around to help her, why should he play a hero if he knows she's bad news and can potentially use that against him on a whim.

Character of people you know is important factor in deciding to help or not. If I saw some guy who I know as local delinquent was in scuffle with other guys, then unless they had knives out and were trying to kill him I'd just assume he started some shit and reaped the rewards, and ignore it. She's not assaulted by some stranger in back alley, there is no need for him to rush blindly to help her.

Right? Like, I'm so baffled by some of the reactions here. Okay, sure, Hebikawa ain't a saint person by any measure, but to wish for her to become a sex assault victim is fucking vile. There is a grass waiting to be touched by these people.

Oh no, a moral dilemma appears: Do the right thing and help Hebikawa by calling the police and don't reveal himself or just think "Yeah, serves you well!" and instead feel Schadenfreude seeing her being dragged away by some weird? Well, stay tuned, next time, we'll see it! Well, maybe...

I don't hate her and if anything kinda respect her but I just see absolutely no reason for him to get involved

School festival arcs are always my least favorite in these school manga. Well, I suppose cultural festivals are better than the sports ones. Those are always so dull to read.
I agree. But this one seems interesting. While we do have the cliche love interest being a main role, the MC being a director is definitely different. Like they are heavily involved, but more involved in the shadows kind of thing. Active with their love interest, but not in a forced awkward kind of way, but as a heavy shoulder to rely upon (that may just be my personal experiences with this type of role though).

Is it the right thing though? He knows she knows the guy and was friendly with him before, so its either her uncle or something, in which case calling police could just create an unnecessary mess, or he's her sugar daddy, in which case she could got expelled over if caught. And if it's her sugar daddy, then it's her own mess, why play a hero for her?

MC got on my nerves a long time ago, ever since he first "realized" his feelings for Kusunoki, it's like since that moment his stupidity kicked into high gear with the way he started avoiding her, fucking coward

Actually no, the whole reason for his "trauma" cemented the fact that this kid is absolutely hopeless
Preach, this spineless and insecure protag is straight up annoying

The mc being the director is different? really? cause for me I rolled my eyes with how cliché it was as soon as he was assigned as the director. I'd honestly be more surprised if he didn't get assigned as the director.

Good point!
I think, you summarised the dilemma the MC is currently in quite well. To be honest, I forgot it was the same guy as last time. Knowing this changes the situation significantly, so maybe he will just be weirded out and otherwise move on.

However, this is a manga, so it is entirely possible the MC will show some stupid shenanigans...

Especially when he doesn't fuck with her at all, that's the shit I never understood with these types of MCs, why tf stick your neck out for someone you dislike?

It's borderline stupid honestly

What the hell, why it started jumping like that. this chapter have no connection for what happen last one.
I think we'll probably see that Hebikawa planted some poison seeds in Kusunoki's head with the talk that happened after the "Do you like him" denial. We'll probably see it in a flashback.

If Hebikawa has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Hebikawa has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Hebikawa has only one fan then that is me. If Hebikawa has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Hebikawa, then I am against the world. 🗣🗣🗣
Love you random chatter
