Ok, I know as a manga we don't exactly need to base the character behavior in realistic ones, but...
To everyone saying "just ignore it". If he ignores it, and it ends with a crime scene, he probably felt guilty of a long, LONG time, or even forever.
Personally, I never had something even close to seeing a possible crime and ignoring it. But I have another experience that it was not even my fault and even so I carried a guilty for years, so I can imagine how it would be if I ignored something like that.

I think she's just pretending to be provoking him because she wants to feel in control, and she feels she can't just tell mom her new guy wants to get in her underage daughter's pants, so she plays this game with him to keep family peace or whatever. Still, she's pretty dumb for not even trying to stop teasing MC after that dangerous scene, but she's probably too full of herself to even think about asking for help, and especially not from her former victim. She'd be more likely to agree to get help from Kusunoki, since she has this weird obsession with Kusunoki's "purity".
