In the novel, I think the distinction between them swarming or not was used by calling the non-swarming ones grasshoppers. The swarming ones aren't as meaty.

Relationship tree is a good idea, though I might put it at the end of the chapter with the plant trivia instead of the beginning.

I would prefer it if the family tree was at the end of the chapter rather than the start. I’d rather be confused and have to reread with the reminder than be spoiled on some relationship or character appearance.

I do like the relationship tree idea, I don't like it being in the front especially if it contains the relevant characters of the current chapter.
I would even go so far as to say having a full relationship tree up to the current chapter would be nice to have.

The motivation behind having the relationship at the front is to act as a reminder of the relationships that we currently know of before that chapter (so relationships established during the chapter are not shown on the relationship chart before the chapter — for those of you that have the concern of relationships being spoiled before they're actually revealed). This also means that if a relationship hasn't explicitly been established before the chapter, we won't show the relationship there so as to not spoil it.

Though, there are a bunch of relationships that are strongly implied and never explicitly mentioned in this manga. The novel is way more explicit about a lot of things... so balancing this is going to require some more careful thinking so as to not reveal what shouldn't yet be revealed.

As for character appearances being spoiled at the start of the chapter because of the relationship chart... yeah, that's definitely a problem. Personally, I don't mind it at the front and would honestly find more use in it being there compared to at the back of the chapter, but let's put it up to a vote:
