The manager is the FMC's agent so that means she is empowered to act (make decisions) for her. Its never made clear what the FMC business relationship is with the talent agency but its probably some sort of contract and that obligates her to follow their direction to some degree. Its not like not the manager is not going to consult with the FMC, as we saw later, before committing anything. But the manager is also working for the agency who has their own interests in getting a return on their own investment. There is going to be a dynamic going on where the actress may need to listen to the manager as a representative of that agency. Why would her manager have a say in whether to deny that story? Would the actress have had to go along with that fake relationship if her manager told her to? So much for her stance as someone who actually cares about her client (who’s also paying her salary).
I think it’s overdue for him and the manager to renegotiate/update their agreement on his distance with neighbor-san. The timing might be right given the current rumour as well… the problem is that the woman most affected isn’t part of the discussion, which is objectively wrong.

A new car? A coup might be what you're thinking. The manager turning the story down seems odd. Spreading rumours the star couple are dating in real life is as old as time.Could Manager-san be pondering a coupe?
If they accept the rumors, and then our FMC is later caught with our MC, there is now a cheating scandal.A new car? A coup might be what you're thinking. The manager turning the story down seems odd. Spreading rumours the star couple are dating in real life is as old as time.

In addition, it's been shown time and time again that the manager genuinely cares for FMC. She probably knows the whole 'caught in the act' was set up by the male actor, or is at least highly suspicious at best. So she doesn't want the fmc getting near him, since clearly he has ulterior motives (plus there's already a better guy in the form of our mc)If they accept the rumors, and then our FMC is later caught with our MC, there is now a cheating scandal.
HAHAHA! True, excuse my low second language knowledge. I even googled it to make sure, and picked the wrong spelling anyway. But on the other hand, some manga solves things with magical cars, so who knows?A new car? A coup might be what you're thinking.
