im throwing a fit cuz it makes it seen chubby ppl cant get love or kisses unless they lose weigh "look guys everyone loves her now! her bf kissed her! see you fat fuck lose weigh ppl will like you if u do" if she lost due toUh the fat fetishists are about to throw a fit 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dudes it’s bad writing that undercuts the central theme and unique premise. She literally does it to be “more lovable”.
But the framing just kinda undermines her character and journey. What do you mean become more loveable to someone else? She was perfectly loveable before. It was 100% fine for them to portray it as her wanting to lose weight because she feels less stressed and would like to look a different way for herself, to feel more comfortable in her own body.
3) Yes, the character only gained weight due to mental health issues (stress eating), so itd be normal for her to aim to lose weight once her mental healtg recovered. However the issue was the phrasing of it in series seemed like it was her becoming more loveable because she lost weight. No, she was loveable before. She didnt need to lose weight for the author to write her as being more loveable.

1 health reasons or 2 for herself rather for others "making myself lovable" wich is a very bad reason to do so
nobody would be throwing a fit but she did it literally cuz she wanted to be more lovable when she was already lovable just feels pointless and just an excuse
then i retract my fit tho im still a bit irked cuz it felt a bit rushedHey, hey. Listen, you probably weren't expecting this to be the case, but the translation was wrong. That's the problem. Don't be mad at the author/creator for this.
What the text actually said was:
"After I met Akira, and he said he loved me, I was able to LOVE MYSELF MORE".
(big text to attract attention, just in case someone else drops by to leave more comments, because this is important)
If you still don't like her diet, fine, but don't get too hung up on the "lovable" dialogue. That's an error.
