Honestly, why are they still together? Nanase is telling her girlfriend about something deeply personnal and intimate and all she can think is "man, this is so boring" and then proceed to gaslight her that she should go see Fuuko, the one she CHEATED with. How selfish can she be? Like she could have just break up with Nanase and go love Fuuko all day everyday and this manga would been much shorter instead of dragging on endlessly. Now, even if Yuni doesn't ends up with Fuuko and became alone, I wouldn't feel bad about her.
She's complaining about hurting the girl she loves what partner would want to hear that?

I guess the big question is whether Mashiro had Fuuko share her location to lure Yuni in, or if Fuuko somehow set it off on some slim chance Yuni would come find her. Mashiro's playing it cool either way, it would seem, so time will tell on that.

Very interesting to see Nanase so broken up over Yuki, though. A bit of a shame the actual fight happened off-screen like that, and we only get this aftermath with all of Nanase's "oh woe is me" self-indulgence. It does reinforce just how self-interested Nanase has always been, though, which is nice to see; even her "bestest closest bestie" was forgotten for half of their life together, all because Nanase only sees whatever's in front of her in the exact light and context she wants it to exist in, and doesn't seem to actually pay attention, otherwise.
Guessing there'll be another 3 chapters of this volume; so I'm curious if Mashiro will be dealt with and the arc involving her & Fuuko concluded by then, or if it'll carry over into volume 10 with the stakes increasing. She's basically directly involved with Fuuko only (and thus by extension Yuni secondarily), so roping Yuki & Nanase doesn't make sense at the moment. She's a big deal, being a major narrative plot point for one of the leads of the story, but I don't know to what extent she'll be intertwined outside of representing the worst of Fuuko's impulses and trauma.
Fantastically dramatic as always, though. And it's great to see Yuni crystallizing around what she actually wants and what she feels is important to her.

I absolutely love Nanase's mom though. That level of purity is so out of place in this series and it's just great to see her sticking out like a diamond in refuse.
Judging by Fuuko's face I got the impression she was not expecting to see Yuni so she may not even have known Mashiro did it. Just a thought. I feel like the heartbreak of Yuni points out where her priorities really are. Like they said in the chapter she had such a stronger reaction to this shen she did when Yuni admitted she cheated. Also her mom I have what will probably be an unpopular opinion about her, but I think she sufers from the same world view as her daughter where she sees everyone in the roll she wants them in and expects them to fall in line with those views. That is just a hunch though.

Nanase finally realizing what anyone who's actually paid attention to this manga already knew. She doesn't love Yuni. Hell, she might've never even liked her all that much.

Great on Yuni too for calling out Nanase's blatant hypocrisy. People like to get at Yuni because "hurr cheaturr" but honestly? She's tried much harder to make this farce of a relationship work than Nanase has.
Yeah I always remind myself how fragile this relationship is to begin with. I mean if you read that ch 0 it makes it sound like Nanase was feeling self conscious and Yuni made her feel pretty so she asked her out. Nanase was cute and super popular so Yuni said yes. Seems like a vary shallow foundation.

Also dang is yuni a terrible person. She thinks nanase is more sad about yuki then when she was cheating on her. Nanase was about to quit volleyball for her. Just bad man
Yeah for five min. Then she took Yuki on a date and decided not to change a single thing just make Yuni cut off her support system and accept that she ranks lower than her dogs in Nanase's life.

Actually, interesting point - she considered it for a moment and then decided on her own that she wouldn't, during her definitely-not-a-date at the amusement park with Yuki in chapter 18. (The very date that Yuni wanted with her, in fact, but that she turned down because of her foot injury and how she thought it would make it unfun.)

And a not-small part of the reason why was because of Yuki, herself.
Yes thank you it's so great to hear someone else point out that date. I mean far from the only case. I Mean she couldn't eat lunch with Yuni because she had to lay in a field eat lunch with Yuki and give her a gift and so much more, but the park was so obvious and so many people insist it's fine and innocent because she doesn't want to sleep with Yuki. Which even if you believe she's not attracted to Yuki that argument is garbage. Any way so happy someone else said it.

Wait is this after yuni was cheating and belittling nanase right in front her?? Am I missing something??
She had cheated by this point yes, but Nanase says herself it was a fair request she knew she wanted to be with Yuni and she knew she was taking something Yuni wanted and was giving it to someone else. Besides from my point of view the emotional affair started much sooner. In chapter one someone leans on Nanase and she pushs her off instantly establishing the ridged rules Yuni tells us Nanase has established and matting for everyone. Especially Yuni herself. The only one immune to this is Yuki. Nanase never explains this even when Yuni tells her it makes her insecure and she wants to no why it's ok but other intimacy isn't. Did Yuni do wrong absolutely, but Nanase honestly has never treated Yuni as anything more than some one on the edge of her social circle she can have sex with. She has never prioritized repeated or responded to Yuni's needs. So yes you have the time line more or less write, but I would say tour missing alot.

Yuni's whole don't abandon your friend spiel seemed to be a roundabout acknowledgement that she doesn't want Nanase. If only either of them noticed.
They need to break up so badly but they both have baggage keeping them together in Yuni's desperate loneliness and Nanase's perfunctory feelings of obligation and doing things right. It's kind of an interesting inversion of a normal getting together yuri where the MCs are so obviously going to date but have to wade through emotional and interpersonal bullshit to get there.
I think Nanase at this point has become a back up. I think Yuni is aware and doesn't say anything because she wants somewhere to go if Fuuko rejects her.

The problem is that Nanase is talking about something that is not about her. Yuni is so self absorbed that she doesn’t give a shit about anything that is not directly about her.
I think that's harsh it seems to be specificly things that make her uncomfortable. Specifically she hates romantic rivals.

Nanase has a friend who is not Yuni. That’s it. Calling that emotionally cheating is pretty wierd!
A friend who isn't Yuni that she buys gifts takes on dates blows off her girlfriend repeatedly to eat alone with and varied because she didn't perfectly remember when they met. I could be wrong but that doesn't seem simple to me.

NGL it looks like it's winding down/reaching its climax soon. We have the OTPs solidifying, them understanding their own feelings better, the cheating is more exposed, etc. I sense a dozen or so more chapters of drama and then a pretty decent ending where everyone is happy.
Someone said this is gonna be the last volume and honestly I could see it. Kinda hoping for an after story though even if it's unlikely.

Nanase also has a recurring habit of doing all of the things that Yuni wanted to do with her, with Yuki, and/or including Yuki in things that she does do with Yuni. Nanase effectively treated Yuki like a girlfriend more than she did Yuni in the majority of situations and incidents that we are shown throughout the series; Yuni's whole issue is that she is Nanase's girlfriend, but Nanase spares more emotional and mental bandwidth for her "friend" than for her.
You could argue it was unwitting on Nanase's part, but that's also a problem; we saw last chapter that she has a long-held habit of just not paying attention to things that aren't actually important to her in the moment, like how her best and closest friendship went back multiple years further than she assumed. She forgets Yuni more than once, and allows herself to be pulled around by Yuki or by volleyball or by her friendgroup at the expense of the person she wants to be her girlfriend. I'd argue she absolutely is emotionally cheating on Yuni with Yuki, and has been since the start of the series. Her being unaware of this, isn't an excuse on her part, just like Yuni's choice to repeatedly seek out Fuuko due to her frustrations with Nanase aren't excused by Nanase's negligence of her when she could have talked to Nanase—something ironically paralled in her parting 'advice' to Nanase in this very chapter.

Yuni's a deeply flawed character who made bad decisions through the series, but they are informed by what Nanase, and then Fuuko, and then Yuki do, as well. You don't have to like or condone her actions, and I'd argue you're not supposed to even within the context of the plot as it's presented. But it is far, far less simple than you're painting it to be.
Right like the camping trip she invites Yuni, Yuki knows they ate having problems and Nanse invited her to make it work. She instantly drags Nanase off. Nase then spends the whole day at the river, then walks her dogs, and only returns to camp when she wants to eat then she stumbles on to Yuni she isn't even looking for her. That's reads like a friend of a friend not a girlfriend and it's all the time.

She's talking about having hurt her best friend, isn't that normal to also have people you like outside of your girlfriend? They are partners, isn't it fine to share your personal life and your regret? Yuni complain that Nanase don't support her emotionally but she just doing the same thing here without realizing while her girlfriend is crying.

Sorry Nanase, I still consider you worse than Yuni. Both are trash, but Yuni basically always told you yes to all your whims and you always told her no to hers. Something something reap what you sow.

Perhaps I just feel it's different when it's someone your partner is insecure about. I mean Nanase didn't check on Fuuko right she complained that Yuni would care at all. Granted Yuni has gone further than Nanase has and Nanase continues to think her relationship is innocent, but it shares similarities. So I guess my big question would be if your right than why was Nanase not obligated to extend understanding about Fuuko?
Also Yuni is dealing with hurt in this moment too it's not just that Fuuko contacted her, but she doesn't want to hear this because she's felt for awhile like she is being pushed aside by Yuki. I mean she listens when she's talking about the team even though her thoughts make it clear she doesn't even understand the game. She went along with the camping and even swallowed all her hurt even though she was clear it made her uncomfortable. Yuki is just a taboo subject for her because every time she's mentioned the relationship being to much Nanase has acted all offended and in several cases punished Yuni for having boundaries Nanase just doesn't respect.

Hey, thank you for your comment. I love finding someone with some common sense who reads this manga because I’m so tired of seeing people put all the blame on Yuni when Nanase is also very much at fault.

Okay, we get it, she didn’t cheat, but the girl barely ever paid attention to her own girlfriend. She has an emotional relationship with her friend, and sure, maybe she isn’t aware of it because she’s so oblivious, but that doesn’t absolve her of any responsibility.

Of course, nothing will ever justify Yuni’s cheating, but the thing is, she didn’t even want to cheat at first. She refused to have anything to do with Fuuko, but then Fuuko found a way to take advantage of her vulnerability, and Yuni eventually gave in because she wanted something Nanase could never give her. They’re simply incompatible, and Fuuko can give Yuni what she’s looking for.

I’m not defending either of them, but they’re both responsible for their relationship going to shit. Yuni never communicated how she felt, and Nanase simply assumed she was okay with the way their relationship worked. Meanwhile, she completely ignored how much time she left Yuni alone or how often she stood her up, whether it was because of her club, her friends, or Yuki.

In this whole mess and the toxic dynamic between all four of them, everyone bears some responsibility. There’s no way you can absolve any of them just because their wrongdoing is more socially acceptable. Personally, I think neglecting your girlfriend’s needs makes you just as bad of a girlfriend as being unf

aithful.
Yeah I think the simplest and most obvious comparison is the hand placement Yuki frequently wraps her arms around Nanase and leans on her while they walk. Leading other people to say what a good couple they make. Meanwhile when Nanase broke a promise and Yuni was trying to get her attention she took her hands for a second in a secluded spot and Nanase pushed her away and looked at her like she was a sex offender. If you ask me that says it all.

I'm expecting Yuni to tell Mashiro that Fuuko is not hers, Fuuko is hers, she isn't Mashiro's, and Fuuko belongs only to her ngl
And give mashiro the middle finger xD and take Fuuko somewhere where they could be together alone
I think she is going to give Fuuko a choice and offer to stand beside her. Maybe even offer to make her number one, but I have this feeling she isn't going to take Fuuko but offer her away out. Not sure though this could play out alot of different ways given her writing style we may not even know what happened. I could see the next chapter starting with Fuuko and Yuni tangled in sheets and Fuuko gushing about how surprisingly sweet and brave Yuni was.
