Nanase I just don’t see her changing. Her habits with her volleyball team so set in stone and for her friend Yuki seems that won’t change. I just don’t see Nanase and Yuni’s relationship getting better.

Yuni’s needs to figure out what she really wants if she’s doubting her relationship and what she wants from it or she will keep being disappointed. I mean I’m ok if she ends up alone.

Yuki is not a good friend if she can’t be supportive and continues to do this shit but maybe she’s the silver lining for Yuni to finally leave ship and I wonder if that happens if Yuki will confess and Nanase will reject her. Cuz I think that be the best. Sure they get a long don’t mean they need to be lovers.

Fuuko deserves better. Sure she got issues but who doesn’t. Sometimes some people just want to be loved and she’s been thru enough she deserves a happy ending.

Everyone is pretty selfish in this story and not supportive of each other at all. We can only wait and see how it developes.

But if it takes two months for another chapter not sure I’ll read it till it’s complete cuz I forgot about this manga and everything I read till I read the comments.

The final page was gold indeed, but I must say the girlfriends' moms are better in all senses that their daughters (well, except for the cooking part, poor Yuni). I know I proposed a threesome in an older chapter, but a foursome with double oyakodon would be supreme.

Aaaaah, finally people are realizing that Nanase isn't exactly faultless in Yuni having a moment of weakness that Fuuko fully exploited. (yes yes, cheating bad, nobody said the contrary, i think)
However the stuff we see in this chapter (Nanase literally leaving her gf alone with a group of stranger adults, not even bothering to present her to them and in the end leaving her to do the cooking chore), that was already shown in past chapters.
Imagine you're with 2 friends : you and another friend are kinda regular at this place, then you ditch that other friend who's brand new to that activity, and you leave them to do the chores (and that friend happens to be your lover by the way) while you're going to get some fun with other friends. On a scale of 10, how shietty of you would that be ? (I'd say they are lucky that Yuni is good at cooking : could you guess how she would be received when people comes back to charcoal food ? i wouldn't bet that on a coin flip)

Also, the fact that Nanase's mother never heard of Yuni, like....it's her first time hearing she's got a friend that is not in some kind of volleyball activity, just why ? Nanase never bothered to show them some picture class or something and say, “oh this girl is my new friend !” and thus would talk about her to them. It'd ACTUALLY show that Nanase really cared for her but tried to keep it that relationship a secret but giving herself an excuse to hang out with her. I wouldn't have said anything if Nanase's mother were like “ooooh you're that friend Nappi talked about ! I'm so happy I finally get to meet know ! Finally a friend that is not a volleyball nerd !”.
(Had to reread since it's been a while, but Yuni does talk about Nanase to her mother, very vaguely since well, was a delicate situation and didn't want to burder her even more)
The problem is still the same : they have different level of dedication to that relationship, CLEARLY and Yuni is bottling it up, trying to see the positive (she DID find her passion for volleyball endearing way back then) but it WILL explode again unless either Yuni ends it or Nanase steps up and not just once or twice. (Going to remind that it was Nanase that initiated the relationship).

Let's try to illustrate that with some bigger scale : country X asks country Y to form an alliance (mutual defense assistance, etc). At first, everything was good until country X felt like its priorities don't exactly align with B, giving more attention to some other things and asked Y to follow even if they weren't in Y's priorities list. Y followed nonetheless believing X would follow them when it will matter. But when it did, X simply didn't. What do you think Y is going to think ? that alliance seems unreliable and just straight up one-sided. Country Z comes in and woes for Y, what are the chances for Y to be a bit swayed ? But X still wants to keep that relationship with Y, Y still hesitant because X is an important partner, invested a lot in that relationship. But nothing changes.
Are you really going to blame country Y to have fallen even for a bit for Z ?

i wouldn't peg you as the type to support/excuse a vile cheater and blame the victim but there is a first for everything i guess. Disappointing to say the least.

I'm afraid I can't even parse what you're trying to say based on the post you're referring to. Are you saying Nanase is a victim? Because yeah, she is insofar as she was the one who was cheated on, but even in 34 chapters without her full backstory it's clear she had at least some hand in Yuni's actions being what they were.

Yes, Yuni should have communicated instead of just cheating with Fuuko. I said as much. She's not a good person, and I don't think I ever defended her - but I absolutely understand why she did it, given how Nanase has treated her throughout the series we've seen so far.

But I also don't really care what you think of me as a person, because I argue against my own points constantly when discussing manga here, so you thinking you've got me "pegged" as a type from one comment makes me laugh more than anything.

That's where I stand.

Yuni's in the wrong for cheating. Unequivocally. Anyone who says she's not is someone I don't see myself wanting to sit and eat with at the lunch table because infidelity is a hard line for me.

But I'll be damned if I don't understand why she did it. I can condemn someone while having sympathy for them. And Nanase's not the blameless little victim others have pretended.

Yuni and Fuuko didn't happen in a vacuum, and pretending that Nanase's actions--and repeated lack thereof--had no part in it, is just ignoring a ton of the author's intent with the story to play out a crusade against one character for personal reasons.

Yuni fucked up when she stepped out on Nanase.
I can't defend that, nor do I wish to. She did wrong by Nanase by sleeping with Fuuko, and I won't excuse or condone her actions.

But I absolutely understand why she did it, the more and more we learn about Nanase.

Why is Yuni wrong, but Nanase who went on a date with another girl, let's another girl hug and hold her in public, and lied to her girlfriend why she was a lone in the nurses office to have lunch alone with another girl and again during sports day practice where she gave her a gift not wrong. Not to mention she constantly walks away from Yuni to be with Yuki. I mean at this point I feel like Yuni could argue she thought they were in an open relationship.

I didn't expound on Nanase in that comment beyond her being the reason I understand Yuni's actions, because of the comment I was responding to.

I'll be clear here - for the record, I like Fuuko the most of all of the main cast, followed by Yuni, then Yuki, then Nanase (at a distant last place).

Fuuko's fucked up, but she's honest about what she's after, and I respect that consistency in her.

Yuni's immature and needy and needed to communicate more and I don't condone cheating - but I fully get why she did it, and I hope she ends up in a more-healthy-as-it-goes relationship with Fuuko by the end.

Yuki's a bitch, but like Fuuko she has consistent convictions and reasoning for her actions and while I hope she ends up unhappy because I just don't like that clingy friend/interloper characterization, I don't hate her as much as

Nanase, who I put in last because to a pretty big degree all of this is her fault. She approached Yuni for a relationship, proceeded to hide her from everyone, sidelines her constantly and ignores her entirely at times, has never even mentioned her to her mom even as a friend, and for whatever reason took Yuni back after the cheating was exposed, only to let Yuki pull all her bullshit and act like she doesn't know what's going on.

Hopefully that makes my stance on the four of them a touch more clear, because I also don't want to find out the character limit on the MD forum comments trying to giving a full rundown.
