That's not necessarily true...especially if this necromancer knows that seeing Edelweiss would be the ultimate plunge Takeru into despair card. There is the possibility that they are just waiting until Takeru and team think they have victory in their hands to bring Takeru down to the depths of Hell by seeing Edelweiss and she is reanimated. That would be the ultimate destructive force to him.

That would also be the WORST thing that the necromancer could do (if they are waiting)...because like I said in my other comment: Takeru's anger and rage will be unleashed and NOTHING will be left standing.

This was my thought when we saw his reaction and what he said after seeing them.

Saying this now: if Edelweiss is dead and this necromancer has her and uses her...I am going to be so pissed off. Also, if that does happen then that necromancer will be done for...nothing will be left AT ALL because Takeru's rage will get the better of him.

This manga feels like it is willing to off anyone, at any time… but I suspect it’s not (and I’m very glad lol). I’ve seen a few different series of this current modern style. It’s a style I’ve run into where everything is structured and teased as if the series is going to be very dark, but really it isn’t. It’s going to have a happy, relatively fulfilling ending. It’s going to tease some darker elements, maybe even have some darker elements play out, but then they will be resolved in one way or another.

A good example of this would be the sister of the exorcist. Her entire story was just begging for trauma and despair, but by the end, the entire thing was turned around to be fairly sweet.

I suspect that’s what’s happened with the Saint - something that’s traumatic and dark - but will be wrapped up into a much nicer story by the end. Something like “she’s dead, but in finding how to get his body back, he can bring her back too”.


P.S.
I am GLAD the story seems to be this way. I, personally, shy away from particularly dark stories. Drama is important and tragedy is a useful tool, but I want a happy and fulfilling resolution. If this series DOES go to “dark and edgy” then I’ll probably just drop it and move along.

Whelp we are in the full on battle shounen territory now. Didn't this guy run an entire (and succesful) campaign against the demon lord for years? He feels nothing like it. They explained away the powerless part with the body being immature (and harem needs a function) but his actions does not reflects any experience at all. The authority he trusted betrayed and killed him but immidiately falls in line with another one without any fuss as well. His backstory is so deteched from the current him apart from the people he apperantly knows.
