I thought the mom was supposed to be competent. But no, the plot armor makes her a fool when we’d been told before that she’s competent, merely so that Lippe can fix everything. It kinda pisses me off that no one around her is allowed to be good at anything that Lippe is capable of, simply so that Lippe can show off. (Meaning, it’s okay for the brothers and father to be good at swordsmanship, but in everything else, everyone has to look incredibly dumb next to Lippe.)
