Jesus fucking christ.
I went on a re-reading spree of this manga a few nights ago... and then I did it again, because the story was so captivating-- but this chapter ALWAYS fucking obliterates me.
Phos is long gone. Phos has been gone ever since they lost their head -- maybe even before that. This just demonstrates how far they've fallen. Not a single drop of mercy is in their soul for anyone.
Not even Kongo. Phos has, since they were put back together by Kongo, basically moved Kongo's significance in their brain to "just a machine".
Phos has been through so much over these 91 chapters. Loss. Suffering. So much fucking suffering. But now, this... thing we have no name for other than Phos, is finally getting what they wanted.
Cinnabar is useful to everyone. They finally know the truth of Kongo. Overall, every single gem except Phos is happier, (bar Yellow Diamond, but they're happy when they're a Lunarian.)
They've sacrificed every bit of self they have left so other people can be happy. Though that's not to say that their goals weren't inherently selfish, they were, but Phos has decimated the last part of their identity so everyone else could be """happy""".
Now, Phos is simply a shell, full of the worst human emotions. And, GOD, I can't wait for when Phos crushes everyone to bits because of it. It'll be their treat. Finally giving into the "human" emotion of selfishness completely, how exciting!

Finally, we see Cinnabar again at last and damn does she look good. Just sad this is how it had to happen. I really gotta reread this series when it's done to really feel Phos's fall.

So in Japan, Houseki No Kuni has limited-time special volumes that comes with something extra,
