i think this is a good way to do this tbh

instead of having her just remorseful already and try to mend with him

have her not understand what she did and when he tries to understand her then she recognises what she did and have her apologises.

make the perpetrator understand what they did was wrong

if anything its more realistic

In his defense, apart from being too nice for his own good, I think there's the elephant in the room of Emu. He doesn't want to believe that someone would assault another person just because they're a succubus and "can't help it", because that would have some serious implications for Emu. The moment Rinka starts bringing it up, he shoots it down.

And he isn't wrong. Rinka wasn't attracted to him, and she didn't assault him because she was horny. She was jealous of Emu and tried to screw with her.
Exactly, his main reason here is clear from his head any prejudice against succubus

Went as expected I guess, which is the bar is in hell. Making her understand something like this damages people is not even considered.

Over the years, I have the impression that in general sexual violence is not seen as grave over there, at least in media. Like in this case nothing about the physical or emotional damage is considered, it's only law stuff and standing in society. They only gave her a talk about how she shouldn't do that because that would ruin her and everyone's reputation.
Yeah, there are A LOT of "reversed genres" where SA is seem as "hahaha, sexual assault is funny"
The whole spying girls in the bath trope, characters like Mineta, etc etc

Not really getting on why ppl are pissed.

a) It's not real life, it's a manga

b) Not even a reflection of a real life, it got Succubi in it

c) More likely since it's different than irl, it has different mindset, perspectives, culture, etc.

d) Succubi and SA, in theory, should've been a stigma that the succubi have been suffered. Just as much as some POC have been blanketed by stigmas for a long time

e) Most likely, Rinka is gonna be a wingman for Katou. But hell, if the author wants to go the other way, it's a whatever really. It's gonna be a 5/10 but hey, not everything has to be 10/10 or even 8/10.

f) It's a fucking manga ffs. A mere fictional story. If not liking it, there's tons of more stories out there. Who cares...

Hmm, I dunno. She could be just holding him back so Katou doesn't see her crying, or she really could have fallen for him and is now trying to sabotage things again, just with the added complication that she indeed does now realize why Katou likes him so much. I just hope this doesn't turn into a legitimate love triangle, the slow burn development between the main two is just my speed.

Or maybe a bit of competition for Katou is what's needed, now that I think about it. Yui is under the impression that Katou isn't interested in any guys, let alone himself, so he's not going to push it, especially considering how withdrawn from romance she is. So the only realistic path to progression is someone threatening Katou's cozy yet stagnant relationship with Yui to the point she's going to have to make it known that she's very much interested in him romantically and sexually. All I hope for is that it's not too melodramatic, but this manga has a good history of resolving drama quickly, so I'm not too worried.

I think you're on to something here. Think of all the Succ/Cuck puns this unlocks! Cuckubus, Cuck-a-Bus, Cuck-ME, Boss, Cuck-Demon, etc.

On the one hand, this might turn into a harem manga, which is generic. :aquadrink:

On the other hand... It's a succubus harem manga. :finnawoke:

So are culture differences just not a thing? Are they something that people shouldn't point out when understanding someone's thinking in creativity?

It’s been the same response from half the comments in here ever since this plot point got introduced that the author isn’t doing this perfectly in the way that they like.

The author could finish this off by shooting her with lightning bolts twenty fucking times in a row & have a full 2 page spread that’s just the words “RAPE IS BAD” on solid black & someone would still be like “So you’re saying that we can’t punish them ourselves?”

He hasn’t forgiven her. He’s said three things, “Can we talk alone?” “Why did you do that?” and “You being a succubus doesn’t justify that.” Maybe not quite as harsh as you’d like, maybe not the power fantasy beat-em-up that you want, but not nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.

I think, so far, the author has done an alright job with this. Not perfect by any means, the story is being used for Katou rather than Yui, and it could have been a good Yui plot, force him to doubt his belief in Succubi, to face that inherent cruelty and ultimately come out with his worldview tempered but reinforced. But also, at the same time, the story arc is only halfway done. Yui hasn’t been shown to have reached a verdict. He’s trying to make sense of WHY.
