While same sex romance depictions are "ok"(they're not universally accepted but comics aren't being actively taken down, so not outright banned) in china, same sex kissing scenes may get the artist in trouble because it can be potentially labelled as obscene. Even weibo posts can get them in trouble if someone reports them, so artists are taking a risk to reward their fans when they share the uncensored version.
