For a unmarried man and woman to stay at the same room is considered a taboo is generally called "Nam nữ thụ thụ bất thân", it is an old custom which is arranged marriage (yeah you didn't hear wrong, the arranged marriage you've always seen in mangas, manhwas, manhuas,...), so if a couple stay the night in a room it is expected for many "things" to go wrong. Of course I know how could this happen without pre-marital education but personally I won't use logic to refute customs. In arranged marriages, the parents choose how the spouse is based on the criteria "Môn đăng hộ đối" (the other side has a good prestige and education, nearly same social status, higher is welcomed though). My mother teaches me that "Lấy vợ kén tông, lấy chồng kén giống" with the same meaning as Môn đăng hộ đối, emphasizes the need to understand who your partner is, their family status, their standards of living, the family's customs, etc. As I mentioned in earlier chapter's comment, two families become connected so a marriage is tied to a family as a duty, and the eldest son's marriage duty is particularly heavier than other child's
