Update. LT re-uploaded all his translations on MangaDex under the username Nuoer, but without using a group name. My guess is that he's trying to avoid another thread like this one starting in there.




The weird thing is that he decided to take out the Ko-hi banner, which is still on his Bato uploads, and instead put in a BiliBili disclaimer.



I tried to reverse image search it but couldn't find anything similar. Did he make this himself, or is this a common disclaimer by BiliBili? I'm not familiar with BiliBili at all, so I'd appreciate if someone could clarify.

But, reading it in detail, it makes absolutely no sense for this to be on a fan translation. The feck does it mean to be "for informational purposes"? If this disclaimer were to be true, then the one breaking the law is first and foremost LT, since I highly doubt he got written permission from the author to post this translation (which is what would be shown instead of this disclaimer) on a public site, which is definitely not "for personal purposes".

Another weird thing he added is a chapter 22.5, which doesn't exist on the original BiliBili publication.



I even installed the Chinese spyware just to check that it's not an app exclusive thing.

Considering that it says "Participate by [Donating]!", is he trying to pass this as some sort of official translation so that people donate to him? On MangaDex he put the disclaimer that says this isn't an official translation, but on Bato all the chapters (except for 22.5, like in MangaDex) still have his Ko-hi banner. Also, people mostly gloss over disclaimers, so they may not even understand what it was about and only read the pretty pictures on 22.5.

Is donating on BiliBili even possible? There are paid chapters, but is there an official way to simply donate?

I find all this suspicious as hell.

So, if I had to guess, LT is still trying to milk as much money as possible from this series, basically starting a scam. Not sure why he made the decision to post to MangaDex with the disclaimer, though. Really confusing.

Im guessing its not LT since someone did infact ask if they could reupload all of LT's work. Since LT seems to be the type of guy to maximize profits, I doubt this guy on md is actually him.

I highly doubt the mass dump was done by anyone other than LT. The uploader name is of his rebrand. The motive is probably exactly what you said, to discourage you. I wouldn't be surprised with how he has acted so far.

But fine, let's entertain the idea that the uploader wasn't LT. Why create an account with the name of a rebrand from LT? The uploader on Bato isn't even Nuoer, but XiaoGuang. If you're going to remove the Ko-hi banner, the only place that leads to the name "Nuoer", why re-upload it under that name instead of "XiaoGuang"? It makes no sense. I'd ask @Nuoer, but he probably doesn't exist on the forum.

The only mystery left is the reason for the switch from the Ko-hi banner to the disclaimer. What does that accomplish? It's especially weird since this is only for MangaDex and not for Bato.

By the way, as I'm writing this, chapters 22 and 22.5 were deleted.

Yep, studios do try their best to promote their other works in order to gain money, especially if the series is similar to what they're promoting.

At least use your own Personal Computer to Translate it. If you did that, I give a big credit for it. There are a lot LLMs out there. Llama 3.2 should able do the job like ChatGPT 4. (Use Ollama or GPT4All).

You might want to actually read the posts in the thread.

Nobody cared that it was MTL. There are thousands of MTL'd chapters existing on this website without this kind of drama, because they're open about what they are. People cared that tangerine was hiding that it was MTL, treating a paying patron poorly when they pointed out him leaving in a ChatGPT response in a novel chapter, and then he ended up taking his ball home instead of just admitting it.

Then he came back under a second account to try to go under the radar.


Also, you can go read tangerine's chapters on battwo, which were linked to on the first page of this thread. If you look, you can see that he is still posting updates there.

If you’re reading this, it means I’m at a really low point in my life. You must realize that in recent times I have several times not done or been late for updating the novel chapters. Well, the reason is that I’ve been diagnosed with cancer.

The truth is, I haven’t translated anything since early December since I found out I have cancer. I just uploaded the draft I made before. Basically, I already retired back in December last year.

If I recall correctly, I mentioned to you all last December that I was hospitalized. It was during that time that I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma.

At that time, I consistently said and acted as if I was fine. But honestly, that was a lie. I was really depressed. It’s so exhausting acting like I am okay all day and actually miserable every day.

I didn’t want to keep this to myself because it’s been so overwhelming. It’s been not only physically exhausting but also emotionally overwhelming, and I’ve found myself struggling with depression as a result.

Every time I opened my phone, it just made me depressed. I don’t know how to put it, but whenever I see happy moments on social media, I feel a deep sense of sadness because I realize that I might not have the same opportunities. A thought always crosses my mind that my life won’t be long. These feelings only make my depression worse.

Because of that I quit social media like Instagram, Twitter, and also something like Discord, Reddit, etc., because it makes me more depressed. That’s why I sometimes have not done or been late for updating the novel chapters because I rarely opened my phone or computer. I would only use them once a week to get the next chapter ready.

I’m not even upset or angry anymore. I’m just tired. I’m tired of holding on for nothing. I’m tired of getting my hopes up only to be let down again. I’m so sick of it. I just want to feel alive and be happy, but I’m constantly drained, and everything feels so pointless. I just feel dead.

It’s hard to explain how heavy it feels. The fear, the uncertainty, the exhaustion. It’s like I can’t catch my breath. I’ve tried to stay strong, but sometimes it feels impossible. I can’t sleep, I’ve lost all appetite, and even the simple act of getting out of bed feels like an impossible task.

They said that stage 2 is treatable. But I know my body better than anyone else. My condition hasn’t improved at all, in fact it’s gotten worse over time. I don’t have much time left, and I know it.

It's funny how translating is so difficult on him, considering he uses ChatGPT. Here's a comment of someone trying to translate the first chapter with ChatGPT and getting somewhat similar results. Sad I didn't think of trying that. But then again, ChatGPT can give different results depending on the seed (which is basically random), so it's not a reliable method. But it's useful for comparing the "feel" of the writing.

Actually, I do believe him when he says "there won’t be much difference from usual". Because, looking at the fact that the webtoon is still being released under his rebrand (with the exact same quality and style as good ol' LT):

Actually, now that I'm checking all the usual places I used to check, I found an interesting coincidence. On the 23rd and 24th of January, an evolutionary speed bump left a few comments.

And I could spend money on LT's Ko-hi page to confirm that the money is going to the same Indonesian guy from Jakarta with the initials A, R and T like before the "change in translators".
