I remember how a guy tripped while walking out of a bar and hit his head. His personality changed afterwards and he became smarter and got a degree and stuff. Maybe thats what he went thorough aswell

The funniest actually would be if he returns as some super jacked monster with long hair with all his battle memories and rips that co-worker to shreds but no way he will have a normal life like this so that ain't happening.Am sure the ending the author has in mind is to show us how that co-worker dies (maybe shot by police) and is also send into this hellscape to die a million times

I think the author might be evil enough to just send the MC back to his dying body, giving him a few seconds to save his daughter before dying again. If the author is in a good mood, he might survive his injury long enough for him to be treated, but that seems unlikely with how the story has been going so far.
