The closer they get to the summit, the more inhumane everyone else ends up being. They also put all their eggs into one basket; the four-armed guy was a cool reveal, but the other ones are just dumb. A guy with big eyes? A bimbo with a pet endman? An ugly bastard with a boomerang? None of these new characters even remotely seem interesting. The opportunists who are nothing more than cannon fodder are more interesting so far.

Maybe they'll be more interesting in the next chapters.

it also doesn't make sense they don't become endman by now (as we got told so far from the girl + gramp duo/human camp/the surgeon guy)

Ugh, I might give up with this manga, started badly then became pretty fun and now it's the village arc all over again basically (boring)

Yeah it seems like this is starting to adopt those "battle" tropes. All it needs now is some special power/mechanic that allows for unique abilities/traits.
