You literally have the reverse of what you said in this very chapter. That demon's sister's a half and she's mostly like being ostracized by demons.Because the half children would have better chance in a world dominate by demon rather than human
Because the demons would clearly lose, only a single country from the human side is capable of holding the demons for generations. If that one nation received help from the others it would be the end for the demons. How? How can you know about all his pro peace actions and come to that conclusion?
It worked just fine for a very long time. With the power of hindsight I can confidently say that preaching anti racism in school does not work. That has been done for decades now and race relations have only worsened.

Same fear that causes governments to target people groups because they may turn. The Japanese in the US, Jews and others in Germany, people in general in the USSR, China, Cambodia, ext...
I do think its a misunderstanding. She hasn't gotten to the point where she really understands him and this group all that well yet. Practically speaking it doesn't really matter, as both of us noted, this just stems from a pessimistic viewpoint and that's the important bit for her.I think it's more to do with not wanting to push his ideals to the breaking point, moreso than a misunderstanding on wording. As stated, she does not want to test him in any way, as she has this negative perspective on her relations with him, as there is little reason for him to side with humans over the demons.
Of course, this pessimistic outlook does open up up to misinterpretation of subtext, but I feel like it is less of a deliberate misunderstanding and more wanton avoidance of creating another enemy, one that neither the demons nor humans could stop.
Also, the children are menaces, and not even the attempted assassination of the queen will change that.
