As long as you're not morbidly obese, you don't need much strength to do bouldering. At least not V1 tracks. It has more to do with grip-strength, and technique. Strength (mainly pulling-power) is used as a last resort if yer a newb. And in that case, with time, you naturally rely less upon it.
Well, anyway, to anyone who thinks about bouldering, think of it as such: It's basically like going to the gym, only you have to complete physical puzzles as par of your workout.
