Here's my issue with these types of stories: if you have a hentai plot, with hentai characters... Just do a hentai!!!. Everybody KNOWS that they will stay with him because of a typical slob story about how their parents don't care for them, or they are dead or whatever explains how nobody cares how two minors are living with a stranger who "they used to know when they were children".
And I am sorry to be that guy (no, I am not actually sorry), but WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS MINORS?? just make them 18-19 and say they flunked the entrance exam, and they like their high school clothes. Hell, I will be a full hypocrite and say I would actually accept the age gap if it were a hentai, at least then the author it's confirming it's just a fetish.

The novel company is publishing that novel/manga MC works from that other story, and is weird to see what happens after this MC leaves it as in that manga it seemed to be a good company, seeing its corruption in this other work from the same author is pretty weird, hope it untwist itself.

I get writing about old guys who are so down on their luck and they meet a girl who eventually turns it around, but what I don't get is it's always high-schoolers.

I know this kinds of manga are wish fulfilment stories, but it still gives me the ick, like some people are perturbed by how often Isekai stories use Slaves.

Easy way to make it more palatable is just make the girl a college student, it's the best of two worlds; Young but legal.

Most authors tbh are lazy and don’t actually care about writing.

Its why you get so many cookie cutter derivative works without actual story.

This author likely wants a broader “audience” while also being able to stretch his series longer for maximum cash.

Thats why he doesn’t go hentai because its a really one and done genre and the art is likely more competitive there due to a lack of story.

The thing is with this story is these kids have legal guardians and if this guy were a legal adult he’d ask them why they aren’t with those guardians.

The parents can’t legally abandon them from the house being underage.

And yes typically these kinds of stories make the excuse that “ oh the parents are abusive and this is the only place they can go”
