So I guess they broke the fire stones into even smaller pieces to make the lighters and actually make any sort of profit on them. Was using the big stone even necessary for the refrigerator? I can't recall how they work - are they just mana batteries that can be recharged?

... or you could just keep the expensive fire stone and make popcorn with a regular fire?

I mean given that people here are literal metal benders making a kettle, rack and blowout box shouldn't be too hard.

@AbuHajaar I'm guessing the reason for the Fire Stone is that it's reusable (it seems) I don't remember them mentioning if they get used up.

If the popcorn is that popular I don't know what's going to happen when they find out you can season it. Seriously plain popcorn? 🤔

I've been wondering... Maybe those Pelsica should be written as Persika? Those fruits sure look like peaches and it's called Persikka in Finnish...

Here's how you rope a woman into debt, and then make her pay back the interest using her body.
Or a man. Whichever you fancy.

@GoblinGuy And then they can move into flavored popcorn. Kettle corn, Cheese corn, Caramel corn...
MMn. I need some popcorn.

Every time prices are involved in isekais, MC's stupidity ranks up a notch (and that is a feat in itself)
You are bringing revolutionary innovations and your main concern are the so called fucking affordable prices? Affordable for who? By which standards?
A refrigerator in 1922 cost 700$ while a Ford model T 450$; even today prices ranges from 3700 tor up to more than 30000 tor.
Also, since it is one of a kind, you can make it cost whatever you want.

Also, also, there is no way to sell lighters for the price of 5 pieces of bread and make a profit.

@Beregorn He also keeps converting currency to yen in his head as if the prices are the same and there's active trade between this place and Japan (which is a requirement for any currency conversion to make sense in the first place).

@Fuko Why on which part? The popcorn maker? As people who magically craft things it made sense for them to make a tool for it that would make it as easy as possible to get consistent results rather than dick around with a normal fire that would require a lot of attention to maintain a specific temperature.

@Beregorn Yeah, the price of the lighter was ridiculous, considering the only really easy way to get fire in an old world would be magic, and by the looks of it magic isn't super common, and furthermore it would need to be fire or electric magic. Otherwise people would just preserve fire or use the cumbersome ways. Clearly finances aren't the author's strong suit. I hope he/she is doing fine in RL.

I wonder if magic stones renewable resources, or if they can be recharged he stones with personal mana, but then i thought magic users are rare. Also i thought the intro said he was the last magic crafter meister but turns out there are schools for them. Or maybe a meister unique.
