lol love writers that make children interact with each other like this, as though they ever would have conversations this serious at that age.
Honestly children are SO serious. Everything is novel to them and they don't know what questions not to ask.
10 years ago my (then) 4 year old sister asked questions about how banks make money, why people dont just decide to make the government do good things, and how thunder makes noise if it's just air..... but also about why our uncle always has a green snake in her dreams, and if I was born in a library or did mom buy me from Walmart, why our family calls her a (city she was born in) when she'd never been there? (Everyone else in the family is from a different part of the country)
She also pretended not to know how to talk in full sentences at 2 years old until our brother caught her talking to me about breakfast. Then she said "mom will never believe you." But like 2 weeks later just gave in and talked normally to everyone and our mom was like "shes so smart" and i was like "she was the one talking when you told me to shut up and go to sleep for the past 6 months-- and the toddler WAS right-- mom didnt believe us...
