I had this on my plan to read list for a while, finally got to read it now that the translation is complete. It's a cute and fun series, but it's a shame that all those plot threads never got resolved. Maybe this is for the better tho. I have seen a bunch of romance and slice of life stories feel the need to have a serious climactic finale. Kaguya is the prime example here. In raising the stakes, the comedy and cuteness is replaced with a serious tone that doesn't fit in with the rest of the work, and the finale ends up making you feel bad about everything that led up to it.
Imagine the following: We get a permanent trans ending, the whole thing has to be explained to the parents, his childhood friend ends up having to give up on her romance, his school friend reacts who knows how to the reveal and so on. It would get serious, sad, you'd suddenly be ripped out of the cutesy world to have to possibly deal with real life homophobia and transphobia. Sure, it could also all magically work out, but you can see the pitfalls of actually concluding arcs like these.
