Wanna hear something fucked up? Japanese criminal courts in real life have a conviction rate over 99%. In Japanese trials, the defense has no right to discovery. Criminal trials in Japan are basically a formality. That's the reason why the court system in Ace Attorney and in this are total bullshit.
Eh, you are missing a lots of contexts for this. While a 99% conviction rate is indeed absurd, Japan also have the lowest amount of verdicts per year compare to their total populations. The reasons for this is because they lack lawyers. This is due to how hard it is to become a lawyer in japan. So basically, the small amounts of lawyers get overworks, thus they only choose the cases with clear evidences that can result in a clear guilty verdict. Hence the insane rate.

This is cope. It is a fact that Japanese defense attorneys have no right to discovery in criminal trials, and if they want evidence disclosed then they have to specifically request it, and the request has to be approved by the judge. Japanese defendants also have no right to have a lawyer present when they're questioned by the police. The fact that fewer cases are prosecuted is not evidence that the system actually works. It shows that by the time a case goes to trial the state has already decided the defendant is guilty, making the trial a formality, and the fact that the state sometimes decides that the accused is not guilty doesn't change that. The reason why Ace Attorney has you play as a defense attorney who always wins is because educated Japanese people know that the system is bullshit.

I'm not saying the system is without flaws. But people tend to blow out the problems way too much. Like i said, the root cause of everything is the lack of lawyers due to their hard barrier of entry. The convict also have clear evidents to prove their crime. So the chance for false verdict is already low to begin with.

Don't be so uninformed. When measured the same way the US also has a conviction rate over 99%. Doesn't mean either is perfect, but don't spread dumb misinformation as if Japan's conviction rate is exceptionally high.
Knew because of the tag, but gender bender nice. And also W morals. Everyone should have that mindset, fr.
Aside from that, can’t the judge just display the moment the civilian fled sometime before the other magical girl arrived?? Should be within their capabilities.
Guess the initial punch from them didn’t do any damage because of their shell or something, damn.
Nice!! This person seems to be the one on the cover art, so hopefully we see more of them?? Honestly love this character already—but also why the suit dudes just staring like that and saying that shit 😭. I mean fair, but c’mon. This is a trial—regardless of how one-sided it is.
Who even are they?? Thought they were the company employees from last time, but then why would they still even be here? A jury? In this kinda kangaroo court??? Also, they’re all guys, lol. Odd.
At least Aoi didn’t meet a similar fate to the girl in the last chapter and was quickly rescued. That’s nice. Saved them from more embarrassment—thankfully it was in an alley, I guess. Wonder what the other civilian girl was even doing there in the first place, unless it was a kind of predator bait illusion kinda deal, but I don’t think so…??
That video and audio ability to look into a past event you weren’t even present for seems like a privacy hazard, ngl. Tbf they are supposedly upholding the law… (not really, but idk) so who knows. Maybe they can’t or just know not to use it for personal stuff. Wonder if they were appointed solely for this reason too… Or maybe they chose this career path due to it.
Speaking of, do they get paid…?? The magical girls, I mean. And also, I feel like a memory-wiping ability paired with an internet/data-scrubbing team would make it so that a court isn’t even necessary, tbh. But of course, that makes the title of the manga irrelevant, so ig not, lol.
Very interesting concept though, will follow this. Read a lot of the comments too, also nice.
I mean technically nothing truly explicit (in this chapter) was shown except for some poses and… okay, well, it wasn’t as bad as last chapter is what I meant, lol. There was some teasing, but it was pretty mild, tbh. Same can’t be said for the rest of the confrontation if they didn’t show it all, but I’m guessing they did and didn’t skip over any lewd bits other than the already given scene. I dunno, lol.
The eyes see what the mind thinks 🤷. If that makes sense. Tried to use and rephrase a certain phrase. But yeah, I guess phallic is fine as long as it’s not outright obscene…?? Idfk, lol.
So, does this take place in a hentai-based world, where any heroine who is violated becomes a villainess super-slut within a week of their loss? Why in the world is "losing" so horrible? Plus, this one had someone come help; technically it was a team effort that resulted in a win; magical girl shows have additional members show up half way through the fight to turn it around alllll the time, this was not a lose.
Agreed. Could’ve been viewed as them being carried though. Regarding the win. Also based on last chapter, it doesn’t seem so, but just that they value reputation a lot, maybe?? I can only guess that the logic in this world is vastly different from those shows… Or just the specific people in charge have that shift in logic.
Magical girl on all fours screaming > Other magical girl saves them
No wayyy?? W. Thought it’d be a one-time thing and they just included the tag even if it is a one-time thing. Glad to know it isn’t. Exciting, ngl. Just imagining them helping with stuff like investigating, being an assistant, all that stuff..
TBH the premise is so absurdly over-the-top that I'm willing to stick with it for a bit. Turns out funny haha objection court helps a bit with not dwelling too hard on how bizarrely fucked the setting is.
Yeah, I noticed the similarity and likeness right away too, ngl.
Saw trap before reading the whole thing and immediately thought you were referring to Aoi for a second, lmfao. But yeah, no, think it was a trap 🪤, although then I dunno why the monster would be surprised that they got attacked. Hmm… would explain the girl’s disappearance though. Although who wouldn’t run in those cases? So… then again, maybe not.
Could also be that there needs to be a “boot-up period” that happens the first time you transform that wasn’t disclosed to them. That, or something along the lines of “girls are weaker”. They might take that sorta route. Unlikely considering the whole premise is magical girls, but also maybe not since the premise is about magical girls losing in particular.
Sure, it’s just one case… Her only case… Her first case… But still, she won it, didn’t she?? Should showcase and highlight her skill even more, if anything.
Funny and sad that no one ever believes in her though, lol.
Also unrelated, but why’re they just swapping Aoi’s pronouns without their acknowledgement?? And like, they even know the situation, so… I dunno. Guess it’s just mandatory or customary since it’s a magical girl trial…??
And where the heck is that magical unicorn horse mascot?? Why don’t the mascots ever attend the court meeting? Like damn, they were the ones who roped them into that mess.
Speaking of, I guess they did have a choice to decline the magical girl offer when they were offered it, but also if they’re kind and it was in a high-stress intense time-limited kinda situation, pretty much like their hands are forced anyways, no?? Like a spur of the moment decision to do it and stuff, lol.
Just some thoughts.
Looking forward to the next one now, frfr.
Wait, so, did the transformation reverse their eyesight such that they wouldn’t need glasses anymore?? Crazy bonus, nice. But also, that’s just if you ignore a lot of the demerits that come with it, like permanently changing genders and stuff, lol damn.
