This is one of those cases where you might feel bad for someone, even see their good side, but at the same time you can't excuse their choices. His circumstances may have been difficult but that doesn't negate the fact he chose to murder someone. Even if his fiancé instigated everything, it doesn't indicate he was threatened, he chose to follow her out of his own bitter feelings and jealousy. The worse thing too is that he acted against someone who was innocent. It wouldn't be right, but I could see a case for being more merciful if say he plotted against those who bullied him, but that clearly isn't the case here. Like BanditHadron said, this was a prison of his own making.

Selvess was simply blinded by his hatred for Eddy, to the point he would do anything. I don't blame him but I also don't feel pity towards him. He was in the wrong there's not doubting it, he sealed his faith the moment he cursed Fila. Although all of that, his character art is just beautiful and I am willing to become his fiancee. 😊😊

If he was just jealous he would have just joined that group of bullies at school
The pressure he received from his family and that 'fiancee' of his drove him to a corner, to the point where he was like 'so be it!' And in that internal conflict of emotions he gave up his reasoning and went along with his 'fiancee's plan
Those who argue that he doesn't deserves redemption shouldn't forget that he was simply a tool to execute the plan that Luna girl came up with

despite her dumb actions, our mc has displayed so much maturity. while binging this, i've felt so much frustration with other characters, partially because our mc is able to tolerate these fools. the princess was one of my favorites, alongside selvess until it was found out he had a big enough inferiority complex to curse our mc and say he would've cursed her regardless.

I actually really like Selvess. Don't get me wrong he's definetly a "bad person" for doing what he did but he's also a more interesting character. His inferiority complex evolved to the point where he would even destroy his own hapiness to ruin the more talented persons happiness and he admits that. If he had been succesful he would be further trapped in even more traumas and it would just be a downward spiral. And I like that. Just knowing some love for the very first time isn't enough to make the complexes that have built up throughout his entire life disappear. Which is realistic. The one thing I don't like is still defending the crazy girl.
