As much as i enjoyed the fluffy premise to this story, the drama is just so obnoxiously contrived. Like, what, you take one half-day and now your chances at going to college are gone? What outrageous bullshit is that?

It's the chance to get a free ride for four years of uni, a rare thing in Japan if you aren't on an athletic scholarship. For someone who wants to cut all ties with his adoptive "family" and begin paying them back every yen they've spent on him, that's huge.

Is it just me or does this scene feel like it's almost bar for bar a copy of oregairu with both mcs riding in teacher's car going to a scenic spot while discussing bullshit contrived drama in the middle of the night.

I don't know why every light novel feels the need to copy oregairu's homework when the forced drama was one of the weakest parts of that series.
