I'm fairly certain he wants to avoid having Iruma call him father, he's still not ready to give up his daughter, at least not without a surplus of glasses on hand to handle the reality he'll someday have to face"Iruma, you owe me. To return the favor you may call me daddy"

Despite his unwillingness to give up Ameri, as the overprotective father that he is, he is rather fond of Iruma's unique perspective on things, especially since he's shown a fondness for humans (hence his policies on how to handle humans that wind up in the demon realm.)
I wouldn't be surprised if this moment is used as a catalyst to remove Henri from his position to put Narnia in charge
Yeah, that's the difficult truth about society. As much as things might need to change, sometimes it's more dangerous to try and change the order of things. Just look at most revolutions throughout history, they're generally a very bloody affair, and sometimes the end result is worse than what society had before because those in charge don't know what they're or only showed their true colors after taking charge. Sure it doesn't mean that inaction is the best course of action, but it does mean that you really need to think about and be ready for the consequences when they do come because the fact of the matter is, change is hard, there is no easy shortcut that won't come with some level of sacrifice, not if you want something good anyways (a lesson I hope Iruma learned throughout this whole affair, between the realization that he needed to take things up a notch to help the Many-Eared tribe and the interference from Narnia.)
I mean, he's the chief of the Demon Border Patrol, he has to have some kind of authority that enables him to go over the heads of even the three elders under special circumstances. Henri has never been shown to invoke such authority before because he's never even really had to. This is the moment to show that being chief actually means something, given that the situation only happened because Narnia and Henri are the same rank, meaning Narnia needs fewer permissions to act. I imagine there are consequences to this choice of action, however.
I guess they didn't care as long as they took out most of the "offenders" in the process, Mephisto can only defend so many people at once, realistically.
Wait, since when are the 3 heroes/3 greats on his side. Isn't only the Barbados clan and Sullivan on his side? The other 3 greats have their own grandsons to push and I don't think we have seen much of the other hero clans.
In Chapter 310 the President of Barbados explains in his anger at Bachiko's treatment, he has already talked with the other Hero clans in regards to said anger and they are with him. It seems like the Hero clans Furfur and Zepar are very close and work together. If one goes to war, they all do. So if the Bardabos clan joins Iruma's side, the others would join as well. Especially when Iruma's intervention staved off a civil war between the Crowns and Heroes.
