So does this mean there is a creature with the ability to drive demons into their evil cycle? Does Balam know what it is because he used it to make his medicine?

It'd make the most sense that either a plant, animal or both serve as the basis for his medicine. I imagine that he doesn't really use magical creatures to make his medicine (considering Balam's love for all creatures, he'd only do so if it's something like a sheep where there's a benefit to both parties to harvesting certain parts,) but I wouldn't doubt that he took inspiration from something living, with how much he researches magical creatures, and then created a medicine that replicates the effects.
