It'd be far more plausible that Delkira is actually his father. We've been given nothing as to what happened after his disappearance. It'd fit into why he could never been found; he was in the human world.

Hasn't it also been implied that Ali(?), the sentient thing in the ring, may be a part of Delkira. At the very least a host to his magic. Would explain why it resonated with Iruma. Ch 421 for reference.

Maybe there isn't any acting demon king anymore, so it's never relevant. At least I hope that is the case, introducing another top dog at this point in time doesn't feel nice.

Not surprising that Ameri is so invested in this story; not only to know about her, possibly, dead mother (currently we don't know if she's dead or just was forced to go back to the human world and have her memory wiped). Plus she also loves love stories considering what her favorite manga is.

It seems heavily implied the mangaka of the work stashed in the netherworld and the on-site boss of one of Iruma's jobs (manga assistant) was Merize. She at least survived with a drawing arm and love of romance stories.

Since her manga is getting back, I wouldn't be surprised that had some connection to Iruma being abducted/bought/freed.
