Ugh...cliffhanger strikes again! But damn, where is this actually headed?

The fact that Kallego accepted it without much confusion or fight AND he tried to stop Iruma from telling Azz and Clara speaks to the fact that Kallego looks at him as Iruma and only Iruma.

This train went from 0 to a million mph in no time flat and does not appear to actually be slowing down (plot).

Ya gotta remember that Kalego and Balam talked about this already, and Kalego is both super competent and smart.
He knew what to prioritize

A huge civil war centered around iruma. He has too much support to just get deported and his opposition is too aggressive to agree to some kind of deal.

It won't be that complicated.

Jesus, the sheer amount of animosity, of disgust that Narnia had on his face calling Kalego a familiar. You can see that he doesn't even consider his brother a demon anymore, let alone a Naberius. And we all know that Narnia also wants magical beasts culled in his "ideal" Underworld.

And the final page...

Iruma isn't going to admit that he's human, I don't think. He'll tell them that he did lie by omission to them, but everything else, his friendships and them being soulmates, that was all real. He'll tell them that they made his life the happiest he'd ever been. He might even say "Thank you for loving me."

But he won't say that he's human. Because, by this point, he doesn't even consider himself one anymore, but as a demon like all his loved ones.

A chapter or so from now would be a really good time for someone to bring up The Demon King's Prophecy from, like, 400 chapters ago, and how thoroughly Iruma fits it. Would make a strong catalyst for a "prove you can hang" deal to take shape.

Especially since Iruma is already in the running for next demon king. If he deserves to take that throne, amassing the requisite power and influence with at least half of the demon world wanting to kill and eat him (not necessarily in that order) shouldn't be much of an extra hurdle to clear.

Just like with Kalego; Iruma is Iruma. They don't care if he's demon or human.

I'll call it: Alice has no idea, Clara knew day 1 and didn't even know it was a secret.

Realistically, beyond this, Sullivan may lose his positon, or at least move down the pole, and if not that become part of our current big bad's scheme. My guess before any Civil War pops off, Baal, who's influence is huge right now what with his current hero rep and the ear of a Diety, suddenly comes in out of left field backing Iruma (after all he knows what the boy has inside him and he did promise his "lil bro" he could eat him). He'll end up the tipping point that makes everything work out without too much fuss. Of course, there's a few conversations happening behind closed doors before it's all settled, and when it is all settled Baal is much, much more powerful, his seat probably being a bit higher now, maybe even Sullivan's seat. If not that, an understanding that Sullivan is now backing him hard on something he wants as well that will turn out to be a big deal much later on.

Because Nishi-sensei is very very good at what she does, it is very easy to get all worked up about this. Bad things are happening to our favorite cinnamon roll, and there doesn't seen to be any way out, but to quote another great storyteller "She doesn't get eaten by the eels at this time."

Let's remember a couple things:

1. Just last issue this was labeled "Iruma Forced Deportation Arc". This sounds bad, because 75% of it is telling us that Iruma will be deported by force. The other 25%, however, is "arc". An arc has a beginning, a middle, and most crucially, an end. So no matter how traumatic this section of the story is going to be, at some point it will be over, and we will reach a new status quo, and we will be allowed to take a breath and reassess.
2. Iruma is going to wind up as the Demon Lord. This is not speculation. This has been common knowledge since the end of Chapter 7. And the title is "Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun" or more literally "Enrolled Demon Iruma-kun" which implies that he'll be back at school at some point. How? Read and find out!

One thing is for sure, you have to give Nishi credit for that amazing red herring at the beginning of the arc, where we thought the next arc was all going to be about Iruma clumsily trying to teach Shiida how to be a good teacher. Nope!
