Opera's gender isn't confirmed so technically you can call them whatever you like but in a chapter Iruma asked their gender they asked him to guess he said Female and they walked awayOpera got a hold of Iruma's phone just to mess with Kallego. LMAO
Edit: Wait, I thought Opera is a guy for sure. He looks like a guy, he acts like a guy.
Did the author explicitly say something like "Opera could be a girl, or a guy. What do you guys think?" Or something along those lines?
The author is a woman@HeyHeyWhat We never really knew, by their body shape most (me included) assume he is a man, but there are many details like they using the neutral pronoun and other little things that made this not be certain.
My sincere opinion... i think the author is just having fun messing with his readers, one way or another just see Opera as you like because i guarantee you the author won't give an answer.
Opera most likely doesnt identify as one.The fuck is the point of hiding opera's gender? Not like it's ever going to be important.
Opera doesnt have an official gender and most likely doesnt go by any gender pronounsWait a minute, why in the Opera page she is being referred as they?
They're demons, some demons might not have a gender. And if you're wondering howed they reproduce, they're demons.Opera got a hold of Iruma's phone just to mess with Kallego. LMAO

Opera is explicitly defined as non-binary in one bonus thing that wasn't translated for whatever reason.@cat_of _culture : it's either nonbinary(pronounce seem to be they/them) or it's a hive mine of Opera's and gender is still unknown(either way irrelevant)
It's been revealed as "IDGAF".I remembered that the author was a planning or currently making Kalego Gaiden though without specific date of release. There is a possibility that Opera's gender will be revealed there...maybe?
Hope it will be finished soon. There will probably be young Kalego, Balam and Opera
The author has stated that Opera is non-binary.To the people malding over Opera being called Non-Binary: shut the fuck up snowflakes. The author has not made a definitive statement on their gender identity, and people can interoperate that however they want.
Not the case this time 🤷♀️Most of the time when characters dress like a man but has ambiguous gender, they turn out to be girls, at least in my experience with anime/manga/WN/LN
No placeholder. Just doesn't give a fuck.totally here for non-binary Opera, even if it’s just a placeholder since we don’t know their gender.
See above. Why Opera is described as "they" and not him or her?
Explicitly, officially stated as non-binary.I like how Clara and Alice are complementary colors. It really suits them.
Also Opera is not non-binary. That's just dumb. Don't project your own standards onto a fictional character meant to be mysterious by their nature.
Yes.opera is a non-binary character confirmed??
Wait, how is a neopronoun LESS confusing?! That's not something most people have ever done (use or read them in context). If the translators did that I'd raise and eyebrow and keep reading, but... Huh?Opera is not a non-binary character afaik, is just the gender hasn't been revealed, it may be revealed later as part of a joke, or just keep hidden indefinitely as part of the character.
I don't care about the gender stuff (to each their own), but the use of they/their/them, makes the reading of some parts awkward or even confusing (since these have plural forms). Reworking the sentence or addressing the character by name should be a better option I think, and if you ought to default to something, there are other pronouns less prone to confusion like "xe".

See above.Ahhh, was hoping for a formal reveal of Opera's gender, but they're leaving it ambiguous, eh? It's Crona all over again!
Wait, what? The fuck is the point of hiding opera's gender? Not like it's ever going to be important.
I can safely say, after five years, I am in the loop, but thanks for keeping me updated. It's been revealed as "IDGAF".
The author has stated that Opera is non-binary.
It's in another character bio.
Cope harder.
Not the case this time 🤷♀️

This is the most wokest manga to ever exist. Why are you here?
Yes.
