it really is a shame to see another group drop this series. i realize that /a/ is doing higher quality releases but for whatever reason i don't trust a single 4chan user to consistently release chapters. i worry that in a few weeks they're gonna disappear into the mists of the internet & we're gonna be stuck with whatever SSSSS decides to troll us with.

"Royal Palanquins" aka. "Marry into money"

I always had the distinct feeling, that Opera was female, maybe this is just due to the name though.

Thanks for the translation!

Tbh, it was a bad idea for your group to start translating Iruma-kun as your first manga translation....normally people aren't that harsh with mistranslations, but the translation for this manga....went through toughs times which made some readers overly sensitive and butt-hurt, doesn't help that you guys came right after SSSSS started to snipe this manga, it was like adding fuel to the fire, of course I'm not saying it was you guys fault or anything, it was simply bad timing.

Good luck with your next project.

@sondz1911 A Palanquin is a single-seat carriage for nobility, but instead of having wheels and being pulled by animals it's carried by several people on their shoulders.

>garbage translation is leaving
Good riddance. Too bad you didn't stop earlier because this chapter is an abomination.
-You gave Alice a new set of siblings (they're actually his cousins).
-I have no idea how "adopted" changed into "kidnapped" on page 9.
-I don't know where you got "royal palanquins" from on page 11, seems like you misread the kanji wrong - oh wait, this is a shitty JP-->VT-->ENG translation, that's why.
-Someone really needs to learn how to spell principal right for once; it's neither "principle" nor "prinicpal" (wow, you even misspelled it as "prinicpal" twice this chapter!).
-It should be "doesn't this mean" on page 16, not "doesn't this means".
-It should be "has the ability to overcome" on page 18, not "have the ability". So much for a proofreader I guess.
-Opera is actually the one speaking the last line on page 19, but you made it seem like Kalego is.
Hopefully if you ever scanlate something again, you'll actually put effort into it instead of sniping a series on a whim and fucking around with it.

For the part about siblings and royal palanquin, it's on the original Vietnamese translation itself (well, used to be, they changed the part about siblings since), so that's what I've got to work with. And whether you misread it (by it I meant the first kanji character) or not it's still related to palanquins.

I assume this is somewhat of an idiomatic expression, but of course I couldn't have gotten that and explained it, because this is a "shitty JP-->VT-->ENG translation", according to you.

Anyhow, for the rest of the things that you outlined, I am very sorry for releasing this "abomination" of a chapter, because oh no, apparently having hard-to-notice spelling errors and simple grammatical errors instantly makes the whole thing an "abomination" and unreadable in your book. (Those are fixed now, same with the siblings and palanquins)

For the one in page 9, mhmm, it's totally adopted alright

And one more thing: I've done a little digging, and noticed that basically all the points that you made about mistranslations in this chapter was either mentioned before in a 4chan thread or present on the TL'd version of this chapter that was released there some time after we posted this chapter.

Surely this makes whatever you say have a lot of weight behind them.

>two definitions for a phrase
>have to choose between "marriage, palanquins" or "marriage, money, status"
>pick the one that doesn't fit the context at all
Yep, shitty translation indeed. I like how your original note even said "wow I don't know what this word even means or why it's used but I'll translate it like that anyway!" That's why I told you JP-->VT-->ENG is shit because you're knowingly translating something that's likely full of translation errors, and that's still on you. Trying to blame it on Wicked House is a cop-out.

And good thing you corrected all those 3rd-grade mistakes, too bad you didn't do it in the first place like any good scanlation group would do. (I like how you posted mistakes in the pastebin translation draft like you're making a point, but guess what! That's the point of a draft, to catch mistakes! They didn't put out a completed scanlation with errors because they don't do a trash job!) But I guess the only thing we can expect from snipers is a half-assed job because they don't actually give a fuck about the manga.

And why yes, I got my points from the 4chan thread. (I would have hoped it was obvious by the way I use ">".) Good job!!! I'm not sure if that's supposed to be some kinda "gotcha" from you, but you sound so proud about your little detective work that I'm willing to give that to you. Still doesn't mean your scanlation isn't garbage. Good riddance, go shit all over another manga and leave Iruma-kun alone.

Guess why did I take the mistakes from the translation draft and the fact that you got your points from a 4chan thread to make a point? Because you were the one to use those to justify calling this work an "abomination" to begin with. Why were you so sure that it was "adopted" instead of "kidnapped" in page 9, for example? Oh wait, you aren't, because you're not even the one making these points to begin with, but despite so still decided to make it sounds like an issue. Good job trying to tell us that we're doing a half-assed job while using your half-assed claims.

Here we have another case of "If it's not good it's trash", because apparently not catching these mistakes (which aren't even really disruptive if you were to read it without actively looking for errors) like a good scans group as another group that literally just released their third chapter instantly makes what they produce trash. (Actually, this chapter's practically done all by myself, so there's that. Like jesus christ, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mGPwxuDLtHbkI48Y-cbzNlNOO_B9h-qQZYm7-5iW1YU/edit?usp=sharing This is literally the draft that I've got to work with). You also haven't justify how having these kinds of errors make the thing an abomination either.

And also, since when have I explicitly blamed Wicked House for this? I remember saying that these translation errors are present because "the VNTL said so", but that, aside from genuine mistranslations on their part, could also mean that it's something either culturally-specific or hampered by differences in languages, where the meaning of something would not make sense in context when put onto another language. I couldn't have made my own interpretation in order to let it make more sense context-wise, because the only meaning that I can get from this is from the Vietnamese version and whatever hiragana I can deduce from the raws. (I didn't even know how to read that one kanji either, there wasn't even any hiragana text above it and image-to-text refuses to tell me what it even is for some reason. I gave up, and could only have gotten it after someone typed exactly what it is for me)

But well, do whatever you want, because you apparently cannot find anything better to do except shitting on others.

@sondz1911 don't mind the entitled idiots, most people with a shred of common sense are always grateful for translations. Good luck with your next projects!
