im curious wuts the modern human perspective is in the manga right now.

Get that in the past they were hunted but i think in the modern age they would be worshipped

Or abused for their abilities. Or dissected to learn how they do it. Hell, I've seen a post about harvesting Jesus's bodily fluids to make medicine somewhere out there, modernity is scary. There's probably a good reason that bitch witch lives as a poor salaryman rather than a witch.

I'm reluctant to bring up jews given the Semitism issue in today's current events, but that's like saying you expect that many jews killed Nazis, if only in self-defence. Historical evidence shows very few actually did, outside of organized retaliation like among internment camp inmates.

Turns out humans have a natural and in most cases cultural aversion to killing other humans that is very hard to overcome. No reason to think witches are any different.

Lets even flip it around shall we. Since the witches have magic, why would witches have to resort to killing people?

Well, I'm in the convenient position of just being able to read the next chapter ... but I still kinda want to speculate. What if it's metaphorical? Like "killing her old self"? That'd be the sorta thing I wouldn't be surprised at.
