Thanks for the new chapters! Just saw this got picked back up, and reread the whole thing. Damn this manga is so much better in like every way than most isekai garbage. Characterization is so natural and not forced, and the comedy bits and callbacks are great. Also just fun transitions between deformed and detailed art styles to show and not tell the tone of scenes, and good action flow. The MTL ain’t bad either, especially with the scanlator putting in the work to edit things, huge respect for that!
Also for recent chapters and the B-rank antagonists: the story has repeatedly gone out of its way to have things be deeper than face value and subvert tropes. The necromancer lady had a pretty sad backstory, but the party kills her without too much remorse aside from reflecting on their own selves; The Orc Emperor, in a setting where all Orcs are rapists, gets to say “You call us evil but we’re just trying to survive. Don’t blame us, blame the god who made us this way”, which Aileen accepts and changes her words away from the concept of justice to the concept of war. Damn! That is some nuance on the justification of use of violence, that the character allows that their actions may not be just, but must be done for survival.
I’m just saying trust the author, because they are good at building expectations and giving a surface characterization so they can complicate it later. I mean hell, in this same chapter they have Satsuki tell the story of her master and everyone assumes the gender which gets subverted…but the reader already knew that from the dream! The themes aren’t just for us, its also for the party. It does feel obvious where this is going with the B-ranks, but being predictable doesn’t mean its bad.
Although cue some LN/WN/raw reader quoting this block of text with a smug anime face cause I’m completely wrong lmao
E: obv all this is based on the TL being accurate, but with the general quality of the TLs so far, I think it is
