So Glenn's the type who was unable to adapt to his environment and from that became susceptible to disillusionment. Since the women you normally pick up from those shallow connections tend to form equally shallow bonds, it never really worked out and only fed into his disillusionment.

I think whether he turns towards the better or worse depends on if both our heroes and Cecilia can manage to show him that he's not right about some of his assumptions. I don't think it should be one of those life-changing events either, but a more steps towards that. Instant turn-arounds are almost always the result of poor writing or severely condensed characterisation.

it was pretty clear as soon as the party started treating Will familiarly (for jp speakers, i assume there's a formality component there) that glenn was jealous. Now we know he's also jealous of will as a man because of his early crush on eileen.

I'm a little disappointed that the 'women get bored quickly' thing is a typo, because i actually really like it paired with his actions, especially because it's being framed as a self-sacrificing move. I'm sure he'll be fine tho, and he knows that too, but if you don't, it sounds like he's hoping she'll get over him fast.

overall, I like glenn. yeah, he's a dick, but he's actually got a personality that's internally consistent. I REALLY like this series because the flaws everyone has aren't necessarily bludgeoning parodies, but actually make sense given the character's situation.

These villain flashback chapters always annoy me. I don't care why there the way they are it does not justify or excuse their actions and is frankly irrelevant fluff to try and make you pity someone who does not deserve anything but contempt.

Also, Glenn is saying that he tends to bore of women quickly, not the reverse, and he's worried that he'll tire of Cecilia too eventually.

(The original JP text structure on page 19's final monologue was something like "Women (topic): soon bored of". The subject of an English sentence isn't always the topic of a Japanese sentence, so with only that sentence subject could've been interpreted as either "women" or implicit "I", but the next two pages clarifies that "may become bored of Cecilia one day" rather than "may become bored of by Cecilia one day" (in the latter case I'm pretty sure the verb used would have been potential form akireru or akirareru, not akiru).)

Ahh, you're right, I think. I actually had trouble with that part cuz of the lack of an explicit subject. I went with the "women lose interest" since I thought he was playing off a stereotype. And I followed that subject through resulting in "Cecilia will also get bored." The 女は (onna wa) part is what convinced me. But, I guess に (ni) in セシリアにも (seshiria ni mo) does suggest towards Cecilia. But, that's my lack of understanding of Japanese and breaking down MTL.

I will change it since, yeah, I do think this is correct... and also cuz
