Yes, there is romance. He stays with her till she dies. He comes up with a way to reincarnate her and promises to wait for her to be reborn but she refuses because shes dying without regrets and says she'll wait for him in the afterlife.

other than her clothes or some kinda 'marking' feels like ppl wouldn't even know/she should be able to hide it unless there was no identity card for her otherwise , though it'd probably would've been better to try to fight on her own in some cases because i certainly wouldn't have trusted humans again for a long time even if they were fellow adventurers

I always get reminded of the "in the dog world, humans are elves that regularly live to be 500+ years old" meme. Even if humans are kinda crappy compared to dogs.

And I always cry a bit.

Oh yeah, BTW if you are interested in this kind of elf trope but want a version that's deals more heavily in the dilemma of outliving your loved ones and the way characters deals with it then i recommend reading "Tensei Shite High Elf ni Narimashitaga, Slow Life wa 120-nen de Akimashita".
this one does this trope in real time (of course with timeskips), as in the story genuinely follows the present first person POV progression of the MC starting from first meeting people, forming relationships with them, seeing them form families, to seeing them pass away leaving their descendants, which the story still continues on even after that with MC basically now have to deal with this dilemma and still have to go on with relatively normal daily life.

I second this recommendation. It's a really great implementation of the trope.

It's a bit of a whiplash but you really feel how time moves for the MC.

I still feel uncomfortable reading the MC name as "Reece", the name "Liese" like in early chapters felt more comfortable

That might just be the whole manga. The novel it's based on went on hiatus shortly after that. MC just mourns her, talks to the lolibaba elf from early on about loss and returns to his home village for a break. Then he sets off again with his (elf) childhood friend as a companion and that's where the author stops.

No idea where the manga is gonna go from there.
