Inb4 the author ruins the story to spite obnoxious people that have no right to an opinion. Authors and directors need to stop responding to people that don't matter.

Also, Gabe worded it best: "Piracy is an access issue." People will pay for something if it's accessible. Thing is, I can bet my life that there is no website that hosts the 200+ manga and counting that I follow here. Some are officially published, some don't have English translations, some are webcomic. Not to mention how shotty some official translations are.

Japan could've stopped manga piracy ages ago by just copying Steam's model, but they don't believe in innovation.

That would probably break their contract with the publisher. Idk how legally defensible it is to have a patreon. A better option is to have random doodles on pixiv or something and have that on the profile. Many authors do have them.
