The Knight Commander is the ML so far as I read. His scenes courting the witch have more gentle vibes, plus minor foreshadowing is on his side. Sorcerer scenes are more fun and complicated though, like a cute relative.

Pretty sure it's another mandragora. He seems to be working almost exclusively with them. The MC was grown/born from a patch of the he planted in the woods.

now that I've read the novel, it feels a lot is missing from this title. but don't get me wrong, this probably fixed the pacing that felt very one-note in the novel. I'd suggest for others to give it a try if they want to read more of this, it's written as a light novel so it's almost a one to one with the manga from the earlier chapters.
