Looking at all these and noticed this one looks like it's a sequel to another work? So can we read this without reading that or will it spoil it?

I read it without reading the main story, pretty sure there's spoilers, but it's still comprehensible.
Also by itself it didn't hit as hard as intended but that's irrelevant to the tournament imo

after reading the oneshot and chapter 1 of the main story i can say it goes further than "pretty sure" since one of the two main characters fucking dies lmao
