Really? I think she was too harsh. She gave the same treatment to those who were being disrespectful and to those who were making light jokes: a permanent ban.
I never said the permanent ban was a fair punishment, I just said it should have been expected given Neko's past reactions towards people having opposing opinions.

What if she decides to persecute who gave her a negative score? Would that be poking the bear, too?
Well then that happens. I don't think Neko is that dumb to do that, but I have been wrong in the past and I will be wrong about things in the future. I just hope if it does come to that others will step up.

Honestly, I'm surprised that a strike spamming also gives you a permanent ban. Did she ban Seer too?
Seriously, getting a permanent ban just for expressing your opinion through a reaction is tyrannical.

I could understand if someone, say, went through your post history and started striking old and unrelated comments as some kind of revenge. But that's not possible in this case, since Neko only had like a dozen messages to begin with and nearly all of them were during this incident.

Judging how she also unbanned Seer, it's safe to say she did ban him. I'm worried if anyone else will get banned due to this...

Not answering who Legal Nexus is is fine and all.
Sometimes enforcement communications include language discouraging redistribution of the notice and the content itself.
But despite all this, things shouldn’t have escalated like this if certain someone knew how to moderate properly.

Seer did like 10 strikes.
And given who most of them went to, it's pretty certain who the one banning him was.
Strike spamming is a bannable offence, but she certainly pulled the trigger way too early.

I've been advised not to. To the best of my knowledge, the removal had been finalized by the time of the announcement post. Other removals might be due to other unrelated rule breakages or just the uploader or group wanting to remove them.
....wait. So what happens if someone else independently makes a list?

It doesn't make sense to me for a legal body to "advise" something like this without giving their name. Enforcement is simply not possible when you make it all cloak and dagger.

People that get shitter shattered over reaction spamming probably shouldn't be in a position to ban people, but we all know that's not going to change.
MD is a company not a democracy after all. Even in democracy their are huge holes that make "free elections" to "free rejections".

Well, time to start archiving and jump ships.
We'll be losing tons of interesting data, trivia and metadata from the TL teams on forums and such. Thank you Mangadex, very cool.

its kinda hilarious for the site owner to believe they've figured out some sort of "secret recipe" to user retention when their entire community is built as a fan translation index/aggregation service; there is nothing unique to this site at all.

time to move onto the next site; good riddance too, the API crashes way too damn often.

It never worked for anyone any of the many times they did this exact same thing, but goshdarnit I swear, this time will be different!

Oh hey looks like we were right.

But they surely aren't gonna be like CR. They pinky promise.

Best move on before the enshittifcation commences further.
The question is

Delete your account now or delete it after they get worse

its wild how both MD and Discord
Hit me with the when should I delete my account type question because of retarded choices they make fucking over their core audience, which they are completely OK with abandoning them

Just hope next time people see that censorship > using the shit excuse of its against the law = them lying, faster

Its like how discord uses the ID "ITS FOR THE KIDS" bullshit excuse as a cover up for harvesting your info to put you on a terrorist list

when there's no point in trying to talk to mods/admins of w.e group and getting into a argument of a WE CAUGHT YOU and they going No we aren't doing this trusssssssst
and its way better to solve it via action aka mass account deletion instead of wasting time talking online trying to convince someone :shamihuh:

Titles being removed are those we have been made aware of through a legal nexus as "considered the distribution of illegal material". Moderation will not go beyond the titles mentioned; there was Papa Milk and anything adjacent, and some others still in review.

If we are notified of anything else, we will try to inform uploaders before proceeding with removals, where possible.
I can only assume that you guys are doing this because of age-verification shit forcing you between a rock and a hard place. I mean, considering this sites history I doubt you want to do this. All ask as a humble reader is that you do an intentionally bad job at enforcing this by, for example, creating dummy manga to "ban" in order to make it seem like you're doing something or you could also hide the manga in question by making somebody enter the kojima code in settings or some shit like that. If none of thats on the table, you could always try hosting it on a different site and call it something like doujindex. I'll giving you guys the benifit of the doubt for the time being.

Well boys, I called it.

UK is on the war path, but just toward porn in general. Manga and anime happen to be in the line of fire.

But, hey, its been a good ride for some of the doujin's here.

The UK just announced a permanent ban on any "incest simulations in porn". And offenders can face up to 2 years for possession and up to 5 years for distribution.

Also, to appease the crying soul within me and just in case someone with any power to change things is reading this:
Please know that there is still time to backtrack, no matter how deep in you are.
You can go back.
We will hate you for this ruckus and bullshit you've pulled, yes.
But we will at least know you cared enough to stop before it was too late.
Please make the right choice. I really do love this site, and it hurts to see you all kill it like this.

What purpose does deleting your account serve?
Not like you even need an account to use the site, most users don't have accounts

You can just stop using the site
Or actually do keep using the site, not like they get any money from that anyway (if you are not using Tachiyomi or an adblock at this point you might be insane)

Jokes on you. Account deletion is not available. YOU ARE STUCK HERE FOREVER!

There's nothing so permanent as a temporary measure afterall.
facts

You can try to make your own list but it will be difficult. You will need to track every title on the site and do periodic comparisons to see if a title has been removed and then you will need to track down why it was removed (duplicate title, something that breaks a "normal" rule, something that breaks a "new special rule that was never enforced before in order to secretly remove titles" rule, etc.)
