Mangadex to purge titles for legal reasons

Fundamentally, "loli" refers to how a character is drawn rather than how old they are. I mean, you wouldn't call the nine year old (yes, we are for real) Zakuro-chan a "loli", would you?
No, because that'd be silly. You'd be a silly billy.
Curiously, this does point to a certain pointlessness in trying to moderate or legislate against ero-loli/shota on account of it being ero-loli/shota as opposed to being erotic to begin with. Attempting to enforce standards essentially becomes a glorified art review, where you get penalized for not drawing in a certain way (even if the way you draw, for example, results from a lack of art skill-- imagine being cursed to draw lolis because trying to draw anything else leads to eldritch results). On the flipside, nothing at all stops the conspicuous censorship of ages or the nominal age-up. But that never actually smooths everything for detractors, because everyone knows the cheekiness being employed, whether or not they can explain it. Weird enough, though, that also suggests that it isn't about ages, but about how a character is drawn... except when it is about ages, because someone drew a pin-up of an anime character that's characterized (in their source comic, that may or may not have been read by the artist) as 17 years old and looks 25.

However, the subject was specifically Dynasty Reader's tagging, and they often don't tag things with "lolicon" when it's an older character who's just drawn in a younger-looking art style. The majority of Lucky Star doujins don't have the tag, for example. There's an "older than they look" tag that's often used in those cases, though none of the Lucky Star doujins have that either.
They're not especially consistent in any case.

Looks like there's a reverse course on Stray Cat Girl series page, so I don't know what that means for my group posting chapters again. I not arguing against it, I just want information about it so I can continue with what we've been doing all along.

Whatever ends up happening to titles removed/to be removed hopefully a lesson is learned on communication.
I think everyone understands that action sometimes needs to be taken quickly, but it cannot be that difficult to come up with a 2-3 line heads up and a promise to provide more details later. Particularly when the action impacts an unspecified amount of content.

Given that it's been almost 5 days now and we still haven't had any kind of official update or announcement about either the deletions or the staff's response to this whole debacle, I'd say that's unlikely.

Well,this fiasco that could've been wholly avoided by simply blurring images and preventing anyone from using the site without first making an account,is now on YouTube.
MangaDex has already lost 7000+ titles due to its' own promises being worthless,and therefore the site is a pirate site.
Quit it with the identity crisis and do what you're supposed to do,provide us with the content.
That's the whole reason any of us are here,and if you fail to provide the basics of that,then we have other high seas to venture in search of booty.

We didn't get any heads up during the DMCA purge, so I'm not sure why people are so surprised.
They've said for a long time they'll respect takedown requests

They also said such mass removals wouldn't happen since each n' every comic posted to the site as prior approval.
Yet one irate Korean company drags three Japanese companies to do it,and here we are.
MangaDex still trying to deny that they're a piracy website and are now actively removing content to comply with laws that simply do not exist.
