@monkey123 I live in an area of Florida that is saturated with retirement communities, so I'm very exposed to old people who live in pain every day, pressured by relatives and a general obligation to live as long as their degrading bodies will allow them to, visiting many different doctors, spending vast amounts of money they wanted to pass down in their will, and changing their entire lifestyle all so they might be able to extend their lives just a little bit more.
Needless to say, living around all that has affected my view of life and how people choose to live and die.
Yeah, you could do everything possible to be sickness-free and have the healthiest lifestyle possible, but still, die from an "accident" of some kind, that's why I hate this trope more than any other, it breaks my suspension of disbelief every goddamn time:
