@cor3zone @firosahoge @jimmyclear It's all on author though. In the first place, it was introduced as something obvious that world has maou and heroes. If maou were not supposed to be beaten do death, there would be no heroes. If maou are "good" and consequently did not deserved beating to death, they would not be maou and just government officials and heroes would not be heroes and would be thugs.

@kwendy Not really. Maou just means Demon Lord, i.e. lord of the demon race. Seeing as this world doesn't share our religions and myths, there's nothing saying all demons absolutely must be evil. Demons are one race, humans are another. Both would have heroes and lords. This is just a war between species. From the human perspective, of course the 'Demon Lord' who opposes humanity is evil, and the human 'Hero' who kills said 'Demon Lord' is good. And they probably have their own religion that agrees. Same is true on the demon side.

But any person with a brain who actually met said Demon Lord, would realize he's just a dude trying to do his job as best he can. Angelica's fixation that he must be evil, and "really 'fire'" his underlings is childish.

@kwendy The author hasn't stated that it's normal for demons to be hated either. So far, only the hero seems to believe the Demon Lord must be evil and cruel, without exception. Her mother accepted him very easily, her grandparents didn't have much issue either. From the demon point-of-view, this everyday office work is what's 'normal'. Mr. Demon Lord is freaked out by Angelica's obsession with 'firing' people, Ms. Secretary thinks she fantasizing too much.
