@aberdeus nope. too out-of-the-blue for that (no prior foreshadowing of those gems being anything that can do that).

Though it would be funny. Cause then the wife has cheated on mc with some other guy to give birth to the hero, while mc never had another woman. They never divorced, so remarrying while the other is still alive is probably considered that. And if you claim that her new life is equal to being amnesic, then her accepting mc at first meeting while also being a reincarnation of his wife is too much of a coincidence (pick one or the other ).

@feha depend how you see the concept of a soul, i'm guessing(cause i cant remember if they explained gems in the story) that like every other fantasy story gems are just chunks of condensed mana, and just some guess work based on fantasy stories, a will can reside in the chunks of mana, the soul is like battery the will is the OS and the body is the hardware so the soul goes to a new body and will and can resonate with things related to the soul, ie the past reincarnation.

you can see these examples in various fantasy stories and i'm pretty sure are tropes at this point, one such instance is shield hero and the zombie dragons will left in the shield of rage after absorbing the mana stone.
