If this were the old chapters, the princess would have just gone along to catch fish idly and sleep.
NOW she goes along to PRETEND to catch fish idly and sleep, but it is all a contrived plan to force people to get along better.

And the really silly thing is that it wouldn't be so bad if it happened purely by accident. But instead we're supposed to believe she is some kind of Sherlock Holmes of interpersonal relations.
