She's a researcher, one known throughout the world of academics, and focuses really hard on something and makes massive scientific breakthroughs whenever she does so. Normally demon lords as a species are violent and unintelligible because dungeons need more magic power available to them when they first come into existence to summon a smarter base material for their demon lord. This is why most demon lords are goblins, kobolds, rarely an orc, etc. in their physical form. So, sorry to say, but Yuki does marry Layla in the future. She plans to research him for the rest of her life and never publish the results. I only apologized and am being this verbose in order to throw people off a bit.

So yeah... that's how and why she does what she does.

That, and also the fact that anyone who marries Lefi, the ultimate being, must be that much of a man, so it's only natural that he'd pick up other women. With that said, I most wanted to say that the WN does actually let us see Yuki wrestle with the feeling of outliving family and friends later in the story.
