I don't know what's worse. The fact that this is the start of a tournament arc which, in my experience, usually take FOREVER to finish and are never that story-dense. Or the fact that he's winning with that whole "killing intent/spirit pressure/outclassing energy" thing that is just a crutch for the author/artist to avoid having to actually do dynamic battles.

Plenty of time to prove me wrong, but this does not fill me with hope.

It's the prelims, no reason to draw entire battles for each jobber when they can get knocked out all at once and we move on to the main event.

Thanks for the translation. This is definitely the weakest arc by far and there have been some pretty weak arcs. Manga does best when it just focuses on SOL with Lefi and sprinkles in plot here and there. Mangaka is much too weak in areas outside of that in terms of writing and art. Can only hope that they improve but so far its been a huge drag

Why does Holo have a modern chocolate bar in her mouth? I mean, I haven't researched it, but I don't think that shape of chocolate was available at the fantasy time period S&W is set in.

the apparent technological level of the Spice&Wolf world is ~late 1700s, judging by the naval technology shown in the books.

Thus, it's a pretty reasonable leap of logic to assume that shaped chocolate bars could be a thing in this world.

I think the point of "killing intent ko" is to just not waste time with fights that would be too easy.

if they fainted with just his pressure then the "dynamic battles" would have been:
a few panels of enemies fighting between them
enemy charges at him
punch/kick/any other not killing move
enemy defeated
repeat
