Whuh? Elaborate

Dana already posted some of it in another chapter thread but I'm gonna paste it here again with more of my thoughts:

The volume overall is fine, but it contains most of my least favorite moment in the entire series just because the author couldn't hold himself back from doing age reversal (again). The trope in itself is not the problem, it's the things that come afterward that still irk me.

Putting lewding Foll, who's an underage girl, aside (cuz that's just Japan being Japan so I can't complain much), we have:

- Zagan acts like a brat almost all the volume (his mental age also reverses) and both Nephy and Foll defends everything bad he does, even when he snapped at Chastille for no reason (something Zagan admits), yet Nephy doesn't side with her friend and chides Richard, who tried to defend his captain, talking about an unrelated topic.
  • We don't see anything related to the conference, not in this volume or the other. It's skipped entirely.
  • Kuroka will reunite with two childhood friends and the meeting is pretty meh.
  • The way to dispel the curse... Well, it happens while Zagan is still in child form, and I hated it

Damn. Well, thx for that. Hopefully the manga steers somewhat away from that (cope)

so, mages just can get younger by sending all their mana away? xd
Could be that the sigil of the Demon Lord gives them a longer lifespan by pouring Demon King/God magic into them slowly, over time. He's probably just accelerated the process of "staying young" when he pulled so much power out of the sigil all at once, and just pulled a lot of those extra years now, regressing him.

didn't remember Gremory was behind this, the author must've added it. for LN, Zagan just turned small and Foll turned big overnight with no explaination

You remember it wrong, because Gremory was directly involved. The text below is from the light novel:

“Your mana is being amplified. Give it a try,” Zagan said as he nodded along to Gremory’s words.

“...Okay!” Foll exclaimed as she nodded with vigor. Then, she stood in the center of the magic circle. After verifying that, Gremory began clearly chanting, and before anyone knew it, her figure had changed from that of an old woman to that of a beautiful young one. It was her in her prime, and the fact that it was necessary showed how powerful this sorcery was.

“[Time is the ring which circles from the moon to the sun. The spiral which stretches out toward the flow from high to low. That which governs over the beginning to the end. Thus, what binds the change from the sun to the moon, from low to high, and from the end to the beginning, shall also be time itself.]”
